Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

    Hello,

    How do I make it possible for viewers of a table to request a new entry into a table? Ie. Can I add a section for a table viewer to insert a name that they want to see in a table?

    Thanks,

    Zach

    Hi Zach,

    Sorry to disappoint you, but at the moment, we don't have any functionality like that.

    You can either allow editing for a Table for Front-End Users, where they will be able to insert data in one or more cells;

    or you can disable editing - in that case they won't be able to insert or edit or delete any entries.

    There are multiple options for editing, though, you can see the options on this Documentation, such as "Editor Roles" , you can also choose which editing buttons will be available, "new entry" , "edit", "delete row";

     - for example, you can also limit them so that each user can only see and edit the rows they made, without seeing other people's rows ( more on that feature here);

    but at the moment we don't have a way for a user to create a request for you/ which you could then review and insert in the Table at a later time.

    Something like that can only be achieved with an additional editable Table which you can use for this purpose;

    you can set this Table's shortcode on front-end;   and then you can decide which entries you will input in your 'main Table'.

    If I understood - this would be something like a 'data validation process', where you would 'validate' which entries are allowed/ and which are not, something like that?

    For that, you can only make a development suggestion, but I can't say a realistic ETA on it.

    Please feel free to search on our suggestions page

     to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there,  and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.

    You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;

    and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

    If you have coding skills and wish to try to make a custom solution now,

    you can check out our available hooks for Developers on this documentation and see if you can find any hook that might help.

    Please be advised that custom solutions with hooks are not included in our support.

    You can also research resources such as Stack Overflow to see if any other user perhaps found a workaround.

    ( We do like to give examples for certain solutions, but for this use-case, we, unfortunately, don't have anything yet)

    Kind Regards,
