    Hello Team,

I would like to set the primary language in Amelia.

    The bug is as follows:

    1. WordPress installed with german language pack (the non formal language): ok

    2. Amelia and WooCommerce installed, follows the WordPress language set to german: ok

    3. Due to the checkout process we decided to use the formal german language pack and set this in WordPress to default: ok

    4. WooCommerce and Amelia set to fallback language in english. For some reason they don't know to translate any more, they don't use the language pack.

    5. Installed plugin "Germanized for WooCommerce" and than deinstalled it, after WooCommerce was set to the right language (formal german language pack): ok, the right formal language is used within WooCommerce and the checkout process.

Now the thing is, that Amelia is still in english (fallback mode?) if we use the formal language. Once we take the origin german non formal language in WordPress settings again, Amelia is ok again in german.

But as we like the formal language, how should we proceed in Amelia? We didn't find a setting where we can change the primary language so it will work.

The settings in Amelia - settings - general with choice "german" will not make any difference when another than the non formal german language is used.

So we believe there is some configuration leak: is there a way in the database to change fields value as we cannot find some settings in the backend?

Or do we have to translate Amelia from scratch in order to run it in formal german?

Best regards and thanks for your professional support like always,
    Chris

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

There is couple of things that we have to mention.

    1. We can see that you created a conflict in Amelia by adding German language. Now german language is considered as second language. If your site is already set to German Amelia will automatically inherit the language of WordPress and it will be translated automatically

So please remove German from Amelia and make sure that you purge the cache

    2. If the site is multilingual the you need to set the correct language for each page

You need to create your site to be multilingual and when the customer selects the language on that page, Amelia will be automatically translated into that language.

Amelia works by following locale on pages, and you have to set up language for each page.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards,
