I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to deal with this problem I have. We're offering language lessons. A new customer books a free trial lesson. We randomly assign a teacher (employee). Once the trial is over, we want to assign this teacher to the customer. If the customer wants to continue we want the customer to log in on the customer panel and only see the schedule of the teacher (employee) we assigned. What's the best way to do this?
I don't want the customer to pick the teacher with every booking.
I'm using Avada Theme with a plugin that work with roles to show content to users with a certain role assigned to their profile. This works fairly well, but it doesn't work well with Amelia user login. Of course I can let the user login via Wordpress, but when it logs out from the customer panel it automatically comes back to the login interface of Amelia. This is very confusing and risky.
I wish it would be possible to edit a customers profile in the back and link it to an employee. Which would make it automatically assign the right employee to the customer with bookings.
Do you have any suggestions how to tackle this issue?
Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. There is no way in Amelia to force a customer to book the same employee for each appointment when they try to book.
The only option that we have is for packages. Let us explain.
When you offer packages of services customers still can choose any employee but if you turn this option off they will not be able to change the employee that they have chosen the fist time for this package
But when the try to book for the first time for a package they have choice and they can choose employee.
Or you can make bookings manually for each customer and each appointment on the backend for your customers.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
Thanks Marko for the reply. I'm wondering, am I the first one to request this feature? I'm actually a bit surprised that there's no option to link a customer to one employee. In many cases a recurring customer would be always planning an appointment with the same employee.
What you want is quite specific. You want to combine employee for 2 services to be honest not sure if this is event possible. So, yes, this is the first time I hear about it. You can remove employee choice from a customer panel but when they try to purchase the package this completely new booking it can not be connected to other free trial service at this time and they can choose an employee. You can mention your users that they need to book the same employee that they had session the first time. And then they can book the same employee for packages also. There is no other way at this time.

I think you misunderstand my situation. It's actually a quite simple process:
1. Customer books a free trial lesson via main website. Attached to this free trial is an employee called Random Tutor. 2. After the booking we decide which tutor will be assigned. 3. Customer and tutor do the free trial and afterwards I need to connect the customer to the tutor (employee) service. 4. Customer can book 1 lesson or buy a package and always book lessons with the same tutor without having to choose.
Yes, we understand what you want to achieve but these will be separate services and there is not way to force customer to book the same employee for the second service also. That is the issue. You need to tell them that they had to book this specific employee otherwise they can choose another emplyoee. We can not force the customers to book the specific employee with whom the had a session on the previous service.
Hope you understand it better now.
