Hey there, Awesome Customers!
Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.
During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.
We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Catch you on the flip side!
Warm regards,
TMS
Hi,
I have a similar issue to this ticket
My placeholder %google_meet_url% works in emails, however, it doesn't appear in calendar events as per the attachment (see below).
Indeed, my settings DO already have the correct place holder, as per the other attachment...however, it just skips it out...it doesn't include it for some reason
Any ideas why this might happen ?
Best,
Ronnie

Helllo ronnie,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Have you tried to add the text with the placeholder in the Events tab?
The text in the Appointments section should be sent when appointments are booked.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hi Stefan,
I'm not using events. Just appointments.
you'll also notice in my screenshots, other placeholders are working. It's just the %google_meet_url% and only in the calendar description. The %google_meet_url% placeholder works fine in emails. It 's just the calendar description that this is %google_meet_url% is not working.
Hope that helps clarify.
Best,
Ronnie
Hello ronnie,
Thanks for the additional information, i see now. Well, since we cant test this on the live production site, can you please provide the staging site, along with WP-admin (Administrator) user credentials?
Thanks. Looking forward to your reply.

Stefan Petrov

Hi Stephan,
How do I do that?
If you were to test this on the production site, what could the effects be with this particular issue?
Ronnie
Hello ronnie,
The reason why I asked for the staging site is that we would need access to the Google Cloud console. We need to connect the employee to our Google Calendar and change the URI, but one of the options is also to provide the staging site.
Meanwhile, i took some time to test it on the local host, and looks like the placeholder is not reading the infomration if it's in the description.
Let me forward this to the QA team for further troubleshooting and i will let you know as soon as i have the feedback.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hello ronnie,
Apologies for the delayed answer (we had a national holiday)
According to our testing, the Google Meet link is rendering properly, for both services and events. Now, the placeholder %google_meet_url% won't be rendered if entered in the Event description, but i will be rendered as a link when the appointment is scheduled
With the new version, we have added the option to enable Google Meet for service/event separately. Once Google Meet is enabled, you can enable Google Meet for each service separately in Services settings.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hi Stefan,
I'm a little confused.
I didn't know what you meant when you said: the placeholder %google_meet_url% won't be rendered if entered in the Event description, but i will be rendered as a link when the appointment is scheduled
What do you mean when you say an Event Description and Appointment Scheduled ?
But then, it also seems you have fixed this in the next version - am I correct in understanding you?
Thanks in advance,
Ronnie
Hello ronnie,
Sorry for the confusion, let me explain a bit more.
With the recent version of Amelia, we've added the option to enable Google Meet for both Events and Services. This means that after the initial integration with Google Calendar (since Google Meet is part of the Google Calendar) you can enable Google Meet per event and per service.
In the Google Calendar description (Event Title and Description), if you add the placeholder %google_meet_url%,, it won't be rendered in the description, but the Google Meet link will be rendered in the "header" area, like this. So, the Google Meet link will be available directly in the Appointment that has been scheduled in Google Calendar.
I hope i cleared a bit.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov
