Hi, I need help with customer management.

    1. My customer should be able to book events and appointments. Since a store is planned later, I would like to integrate WooCemmerce now. But I have difficulties with the fact that every User can automatically log into the WP-BAckend. Is there somewhere to prevent this?

    2. I'm also wondering whether the fields that you create in Amelia Booking can somehow appear later in the customer profile, because otherwise the logged-in user has to enter all the data over and over again if he wants to book, which isn't the point?

    3. And is it also possible to integrate the e-mail, name and telephone number from the Amelia form in the subsequent Woocommerce checkout?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Jelka,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

    1. For this purpose, you need to disable the "Automatically create Amelia Customer user" option on the Amelia/Settings/Roles/Customers page.

    2. If you are referring to custom fields, which I guess  you are, please note that custom fields are related to appointments rather than customers and thus it can not be connected to a customer.

    3. In order to allow existing WordPress users to log both into WordPress (or WooCommerce, or some membership plugin) and Amelia using the same credentials, customers and employees in Amelia need to have "Amelia Customer" or "Amelia Employee" user role assigned to them.

If there's a created WordPress user, but they don't yet have anything purchased through Amelia, you need to enable "Automatically create Amelia Customer user" in Amelia Settings/Roles/Customer, and then - after they log into their WordPress user, once they land on Amelia's booking page, their details will already be populated, and once they purchase the appointment, they'll be added to Amelia/Customers; linked to the WordPress user, and they will be able to visit the Amelia Customer Panel without logging in (since they're already logged in as a WordPress user).

If you already created a user with "Amelia Customer" but they haven't purchased anything with Amelia yet, that user won't be linked to any customers you have in Amelia, so before they are able to log into Amelia's Customer Panel, they either need to book an appointment while they're logged into WordPress, WooCommerce, or a membership plugin, or you need to create a customer by going into Amelia/Customers/Add Customer. When you create a customer, link that customer to the WordPress user, and that's it. After that, they will be able to log in with the same password that's used for logging into WordPress.

Please take a look at our video about this: https://youtu.be/nm7f7RDSYow

Please note: If you change the password of the employee, or the customer through WordPress, the same password will apply to Amelia's Panels, but if you change the password through the Customer or the Employee Panel in Amelia, that password will not be applied to the WordPress user role. This is because Amelia doesn't require a WordPress user to be created in order to grant access to the panels - that is optional, and Amelia can't modify the password for WordPress users.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. But I'm not really happy.
    1. if a user books via Amelia and assigns a password there, then isn't this password automatically also the password for Wordpress/WooCommerce, even though you have clicked on "Automatically create Amelia Customer user" in the Amelia backend? So if he wants to buy a product via the store, he has to log in again and create an extra password, even though he has already created one via Amelia? So he has two accounts?

Sorry if I'm confused, but the system should be as easy to use as possible and it doesn't seem that way.

    2. and the other point I didn't understand: What is the value of giving customers/users access to the wordpress backend via wp-admin? I thought you could just log in to the Amelia or WooCommerce panel via the website? You must be able to prevent that somehow?

    3. is it not possible to add customer fields to the general Amelia login? Because we need the address for all courses/events, which then has to be entered again and again?

Many thanks for your help and best regards

    Hello Jelka,

Thank you for the update on this and for your patience.

    1. Please check reply number 3) in my previous response as it is related to exactly this.

    2. That's WordPress' default email for every new user. I don't know if you can disable it through WordPress settings, but I do know that you can do it with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/manage-notification-emails/

Just disable the option “New user notification to the user” and you’ll be good.

Oh and btw in case you wanna know where the code is, you might wanna open up this file: wp-includes/pluggable.php Line number: 1989

So when you disable this through the 3rd party plugin, your customers will only receive notifications from Amelia, without the following email:

    "Username: ———

To set your password, visit the following address"

    3. That is right, there is currently no such option in Amelia.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Okay, I would then like to switch off the notifications from Amelia to the customer, because otherwise you are easily irritated if you get access twice but cannot also change the Woocommerce password with the Amelia password. Is there a way to switch off the e-mail notifications in Amelia completely?

    Many thanks for your help

    Hello there,

Uros is out of the office this week so I will step in for him in this ticket.

Yes, you can turn off each notification that is being sent from Amelia just by unchecking them like this

    This should help.

Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
