Issues and questions about the Amelia agenda, please help!

    Dear Amelia support,

    I currently manage a website for someone I know. She asked me to set up a website and I helped her out. She wanted an agenda on her website that would allow her to share events with people, and that would allow people to partake in one of the events using Amelia's system.

    Now she's looking to expand by allowing payments to be done digitally. It looks like Amelia can do this, but I'm not really sure as to how to set this up. It looks to me that we need the standard version, which she is currently considering. Additionally, we have a couple of questions and we also have some issues with Amelia that we would like to solve. Here are the questions and we hope that you can help us further:

    1. Currently when someone is signing up for an event or booking an appointment with an employee (she is listed as the one and only employee), she is not getting any email notifications of people booking appointments or events. She would like to get a notification for both. And for some appointments she would like to make it so that the only option is to call her. She said she used to get email notifications in the past. I'm not sure what changed. Could you help out with this? Am I missing a certain setting?

    2. She wants people to start paying digitally, using something like iDeal so that people (the netherlands) can pay through their local bank. Does Amelia allow this option? And does Amelia allow full payment options to begin with? If we need the standard version for that then we are open to do so.

    3. The scheduled events in the agenda are currently all collapsed by default (which shows a ton of text). She would like to have them folded by default again.

    Hello there,

    Thank you for your interest in our product.

    When you have several questions or issues please open a new ticket, and we will help you there. In that way, issues and questions which are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other customers or our support agents can find them easily. 

    Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket because of the reasons that are described already.

    If you already have our licenses, please write to us in the Amelia category. 

    The reason we ask you to do this is that there has been a lot of abuse. Because if the license has expired and the subscription has not been renewed, these users do not have access to our support, the same applies to licenses that are purchased through Envato. 

    Licenses purchased through Envato have access to our support for only 6 months when that time period has to elapse they have to contract Envato to extend the time for support.

    We hope you understand.

    Amelia itself doesn't handle the payments but we have integration with several payment systems such as: PayPal, Mollie, Stripe, WooCommerce and RazorPay. This is possible with standard license

    1.     Make sure that she is using the latest version of Amelia which is 7.4 if she uses older version we can not know what the issue can be. Each plugin must work on the latest update

    An issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:

    1. Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
    2. Your website has a PHP version of less than 7.
    3. The credentials are not correct.
    4. There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
    5. If you're using Gmail, please check out this article for detailed setup instructions.

    Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue.

If we need the standard version for that then we are open to do so. - Yes, you can set that your customer must pay the whole amount or just a deposit the choice is yours

    3. The scheduled events in the agenda are currently all collapsed by default (which shows a ton of text). She would like to have them folded by default again. - We do not know how this issue look like so we would need a couple of screenshots and possibly temporary admin access.

    That being said please start from checking if here license is valid in case it is not your client does not have access to our support and the latest update. We do not provide support for older version since we can not know what the issue can be and for any software to work properly must be updated to the latest version.

    In case that she has active license please create new ticket in Amelia category for each question and make sure to include screenshots and provide us with temporary admin credentials so that we can log in and check and fix the issues. 

    If the license is valid and you send us credentials please do that in private ticket so that no one except us can see the credentials.

    Dear Marko.

    We do not have a license just yet as we're making use of the free version of Amelia at the moment. We are thinking of upgrading if this is a necessary step as soon as we want to handle online payments through Amelia. Concerning our most pressing issue which is question 1, we're using a Gmail email address where we want to forward the notifications to, so we'll check out your link to setup a SMTP, thank you. As for the Amelia version, I could not find version 7.4 anywhere. Where can I see this? What I did see in terms of version was: version 1.0.97. When looking for the latest Amelia update when clicking on 'add new plugin', this is also the latest version (updated 5 days ago).

     The issue is that every agenda item is collapsed by default (also showing the event description). Apparently my client has nothing in her agenda currently, so I'll be contacting her to recreate the issue she has and I'll get back to you.

    Hello again,

    1. We were not aware that you are using Lite version for that reason you can not see 7.4 version and we have to mention that many of option that you would like to see and test are not available in a free version of the plugin.

    2. You can not use online payment with free version or with starter version. Online payments are available from Standard license and above 

    3. We went on your site and as far as we can see everything is working fine

    Event can show in employee agenda only if they are added as employee to that events. Events do not require employee as services but if you want this to show they must be added to it. 

    Also make sure that you have separate users and mails for each user. Admin and employee can not be the same user or Amelia will have conflict of roles.

    I think I managed to solve it. I will then recommend my client to take the Standard license if she wants to have payments done via the agenda.
