Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

    Hello Irena,

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    The timeslots available on the booking form depend on the employee working hours configuration. You want to make sure that the employee is able to cover the service duration. If the service duration is 1h, for example, the employee will be able to cover the duration in increments of 1h until his working day is filled.

    Issues like this can also occur if your WordPress site is set to be in a different time zone. Since Amelia doesn't have any time zone settings, it inherits the time zone from WordPress. If your time zone is in UTC+/- format, please change it by selecting the city near you. Also, please check if you enabled "Show bookings in customer's time zone" in Amelia's General settings.

    If you are in a different time zone than your WordPress site is, and you've enabled this option, the times on front-end will show available time slots in your time zone, which will be the time you set in back-end +/- the time difference (depending on where you are in regards to the time zone set in WordPress' General settings).

    For sending automatic notifications (scheduled) you would need to configure the CronJob. Here is the basic explanation of Cron and how to configure it

    cron is a Linux utility that schedules a command or script on your server to run automatically at a specified time and date. A cron job is the scheduled task itself. Cron jobs can be very useful to automate repetitive tasks like in our plugin for notifications.

    Depending on the server, there are different configurations for it, which you can contact your hosting provider about, or you can check out one of the solutions for it on this link.

    Also, you can try this:

    */15 * * * * wget -q -O - "https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=wpamelia_api&call=/notifications/scheduled/send"

    Or this:

    */15 * * * * /usr/local/bin/php ~/public_html/wp-cron.php --action='wpamelia_api' --call='/notifications/scheduled/send'

    Or this:

    GET 'https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=wpamelia_api&call=/notifications/scheduled/send' > /dev/null

    WP Crontrol plugin is the best option if you're not familiar with cron jobs. You can find more info about it, and detailed instructions on how to set it up in our FAQ section.

    So, if you already read that, and still need some clarification here's some further info.

    You copy only the URL from below a scheduled notification:

    7810032183.png

    Then, go to Tools/Cron Events, and click on the "Cron Schedules" tab. In it, add a 15-minute interval:

    2487877415.png

    Then go back to the "Cron Events" tab and click on "Add new":

    9085918175.png

    Below it, select the "PHP Cron event" radio button, and add the URL you copied from Amelia/Notifications in this form:

    file_get_contents("yourURL");
    2095163400.png

    Below it add the name and set it to run a few minutes in the future, using the provided time format. So, if you're adding the cron event at 12:45 (local, current time), set it to run at 12:50; and then select the schedule you previously selected:

    7642938415.png

    Click on Add Event, and that's it.

    The cron runs every 15 minutes and checks if there's an email to be sent. So, in Amelia Notifications, your scheduled notifications are set to run every day at a certain time. If you set that time to be 15:00 (for example), the emails will be sent when the cron runs after that time.

    For example, there's an appointment booked for tomorrow, and it's currently 14:44 - the cron runs, but since it's not yet 15:00, it doesn't send anything. It runs again after 15 minutes, so at 14:59, but there are still no emails flagged by Amelia, so it doesn't send anything. Then it runs again at 15:14 and it sees there's an email that should've been sent at 15:00, so it sends the email. It will only send emails when Amelia sees an appointment scheduled for the next day.

    I hope it helps.

    Stefan Petrov

    For the time zone is possible, maybe because i am creating website and bought Amelia from Lithuania while services in UK. So I need to change this.

    Also, about cron i have no idea how to configurate. Is any chance you can check for me?

    Hello Irena,

    Regarding the timezone, you just need to make sure that the WP timezone has been set to city.

    Regarding the CronJob, make sure that you follow the instructions, as per my previous message.

    After configuration, you can test it, and should be working properly without issues.

    Hello Irena,

    These settings can be adjusted to your liking. For the issue regarding the timeslot doesn't show free space, please open a new ticket, and we will help you there. In that way, issues and questions that are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other customers or our support agents can find them easily. Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket because of the reasons that are described already.

    Thank you for understanding.
