Been using WP DataTables with Gravity integration. I also use Gravity Wiz Perks such as nested forms and Populate anything but have been having some compatibility issues when trying to use the edit function in WPDT's Gravity add on. Where the EDIT MODAL appears the GW Perk ( In this case Populate Anything) does not function as it does on a normal full Gravity Form.
I recall you guys have advised that the EDIT MODAL used is by Gravity and not WPDT.
I've raised this with Gravity Wiz asking why their functionality does not work. ( When using populated anything to dynamically present dropdown choices from another form/table in the EDIT MODAL, it ignores what I have set up and instead presents the default choices ( choice 1, choice 2, choice 3 etc). They have looked to it in depth and they came back with this:
"They (WPDT) don't render the form in the same way that Gravity Forms typically renders its own forms. It appears they're generating their own form markup and only use Gravity Forms to fetch the input markup for each field. This custom rendering method isn't compatible with Populate Anything which expects a typical Gravity Forms form rendering flow in order to function correctly."
Ii WPDT's rendering of the EDIT MODAL unique/its own as they suggest?
This is a shame as potentially the combination of the various GW Perks with WPDT is very powerful. Unfortunately its seems like not if one wants to use the EDIT MODAL.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.
That is correct, generally speaking, we can not guarantee that any Gravity Add On will properly work with our integration.
At the moment, as we pointed this out on our List of Limitations :
Gravity Forms integration add-on is working with wpDataTables plugin and the core Gravity Forms plugin. However, integration with other Gravity Forms add-ons isn’t confirmed, so we cannot guarantee that it will work.
You can create a development suggestion and our devs will do their best to add these compatibilities in the future.
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
