Hello I'd like to import WordPress Users (subscribers) in Amelia Customers. Could you please tell me how to do? What's the best practice? Thank you in advance
Only WP users with the customer user role will be available for assigning in Amelia Customers. There is an option to import the customers through the .csv file, but if you have WP user with the Amelia customer user role, you will see all the users in the expanding menu.
The same goes for the employees. If there is a user with the Amelia employee, this user will be available in the expanding menu when creating a new employee.
Thank you for your response.
I have 12,088 WP users with the role "Subscriber". Is it possible to migrate these accounts to "Amelia Customer" in one click?
Unfortunately, as previously stated, this is not possible since only the WP users with the Amelia customer user roles can be assigned as the WP users in the Amelia Customers.
For example, this WP user has the Amelia Customer role
In the Amelia Customer, if i click to edit the customer, this WP user will be available in the expanding menu
Thank you, Stefan,
I understand, but I can afford to do that for the 12,000 WordPress accounts!
Can you suggest a solution for importing the 12,088 WordPress user accounts as Amelia client accounts, please? How do your other clients manage when migrating from one booking solution to another? I imagine I'm not the only one in this situation?
Thank you for your help.
Well, there is a script that you can add to the functions.php file, but again, this only works if the users in WP users have an "Amelia Customer" role, since this is how Amelia recognizes the roles and assigns them to the Amelia Customers.
This script will execute on every user update and user registration, ensuring every user with the role Customer will also have the role Amelia Customer added.
In WP users, you can click on the checkbox to select all the users and then you have the option to "add role"
By doing this, you can assign the role to all users selected, but make sure that each user only has one user role assigned. You would need to remove them and just leave the Amelia Customer
When all the WP users have the Amelia Customer user role, the script should automatically recognize and it will execute on every user update and user registration, ensuring every user with the role Customer will also have the role Amelia Customer added.
Apologies for the delayed answer and thank you for your video. Please, allow me to double check with the developers regarding the script and I will get back to you as soon as I have the feedback.
Apologies again for the inconvenience and for the long wait.
Feel free to use this one. It will be triggered on a profile update and it will take all the wp users that have the Amelia Customer role and create an Amelia Customer tied to that wp user. Once executed successfully you should remove it.
Hi Stefan, Thank you for your reply and the code :) Could you please ask to the developers how to get the user phone too? Many thanks in advance for you help
However phone number needs to be in this format: +12124567890 (no dashes or spaces, with the country code), and if all the phone numbers are from the same country you can put country, phone, so like in the example (example for US), if not do not include the field.
If all the Amelia customers are created already this will not work, so you can delete all of them and rerun the code by updating any wp user.
