    Hi

We’ve been using Amelia for years now, recently we did migration to a new server and in the process, a few things broke the website, and we’ve manage to put them back in place.

But right now we’re facing an issue with Amelia Customer Panel not responding effectively to setting on the front end. We did a staging site to carry out some test before sending them to live and after that, Amelia has been working strangely.

On the test environment, the Customer Panel works fine but on the Live environment, it requests for email and password to access the CP (customer panel) even when logged into your user account.

I’ve copied Amelia settings on the staging site to the live but still not working. The only thing that works is when you disable require password for customer, it worked. When I disable require password for customer, it worked but this time around it asks for email to send you access to Customer Panel and even after that, it doesn’t send the email and all mail on our site is going through well.

Please, how do I address the problem as it causing a downfall to us

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

When you are doing migration and if something goes wrong after that we can not know what is causing the issue. This time Im afraid that we do not quite get what the issue is. Panels are separate entities and event if you are connected to WP user and you are logged in you need to enter this data to the panel. You can not log in automatically to a panel.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hello again,

Yes, they need to enter the credentials if they want to log in. Those credentials can be the same as for WP but they need to enter it this is how it must for now.

You can see that in our documentation

This way, they will have the same login info for the Amelia customer panel and WordPress. The credentials are the same but they must be entered.

If the issue is that the credentials are not the same then we would need to test this out. But if the credentials are working and they just need to enter it again to access the Amelia panel then thee is no issue this is how it is designed.

    Hello again,

Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.

We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hello again,

    1. We will test your panels and see if they will work for us. There is a possibility that they are not working for you since you have several roles for several users and each role has different permissions so you have created a conflict of roles and Ameia can not function properly

    2. For this we are not sure if you have some issue or not. As mentioned we do not see any events on your site but we can see services and they work properly

    3. You did not address the issue that we have found you still have many users with several roles and you have created conflict of roles on your site

    5357300919.png

Let us strat from the beginning

    1. You can have only one role per user and one mail

    2. You can not be admin and manager or manager and employee or all them

    there us couple of solutions

    3. Edit these users and remove roles for example leave only admin role for one user and then create a new user with new mail for manager

    4. If this does not work then you need to access your database and find all users that you have and check their roles and edit them there

    5. If that does not work since you have created severe conflict of roles by adding all roles to several users perhaps it is best to delete them all and create new users that will have separate logins for each role. So admin will have one mail and credentials, manager will be a separate user with separate mail form admin, emplyoee will be a new user that will have separate mail from admin and manager.

We will login and test if your customers will have any issue or not. But you will continue to have issues with Amelia until you resolve the conflict of roles that you created by adding several roles to one user.

Once we test the panel we will reach out and report back the results from testing.

    Talk to you soon.

    Hello again,

We went on your site and created a new customer and we booked and appointment

    2430967209.png

After that we were able to access the customer panle and manage and see our appointments without any issues

    6777718527.png

So we are glad to report that your customers (real ones not the test ones) will have no issues and everything will work and it is working properly for them.

It is not working for you when you test since you have as mentioned conflict of roles that you can address in several ways that we mentioned.

Perhaps the easiest way is to delete them all and create new users for each role with completely new mail. But of course the choice is yours.

But your actual customers will have no issues.

Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
