hello!!! I created an event on a clients site, but it’s showing the times for the event on the customers time zones. I need it to be in the time zone for the event so that people don’t book airline tickets for the wrong time. How can o fix this? Thanks!
Here is the explanation on how the timezone works within Amelia.
If you enabled this setting : Show booking slots in client time zone on the Amelia general settings :
your clients will see time slots in their own time zone, and once they schedule an appointment you will see it in the back-end in the time zone that you have set in the WordPress General Settings under the Timezone option. So, for example, if your clients are in a time zone that is 1 hour less than yours, they will schedule an appointment for 8 pm, and you will see this appointment at 9 pm in the appointments list.
-
Also, for example, in the main WP time zone, on the settings , if you have set a fixed UTC time zone.
We strongly recommend switching to a City that is the closest to the same time zone, to avoid any issues between back-end and front-end times.
Please check out more details explained about using time zones in Amelia on this page. Time Zones with Amelia
The main summary is :
When you select the city you're in, in WordPress' General Settings, the system automatically calculates the Daylight Savings Time, and shifts the clock accordingly, so if you have any issues with what you see on the front-end vs what you see in the back-end, always check the Time Zone in WordPress.
-
And with this new feature to set employees time zones; we also recommend picking a city, rather than a fixed UTC time zone, to avoid any issues.
Important to note : for employees as well, it will only show their time zone when they log into the employee panel; otherwise on the back-end, it will always show your WordPress time zone.
what I’m wondering is if it’s possible to disable showing events in clients time zone for an event, but have it enabled for scheduling appointments? I would like the event to show in PST, the event time zone. But I still need appointments to show in the clients time zone.
If that’s not possible, can I post an event without a specific time listed?
Unfortunatelly, there is currently no such option with Amelia's built-in features.
Please feel free to search through our feature suggestion page, to see if someone may have already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
For the events, you need to select the time to create an event, since it's mandatory, but you can hide it later on the front-end page with the custom CSS code. Some settings can be configured in the Customize / Event List, as well.
Thanks, i can see that you are using the old event list booking form. In that case, the path is a bit different. You would need to select the Booking Form 1.0, and in the expanding menu, you have to select the Event List Booking form.
Click on the pencil icon and you will see the option to hide the event date and time.
got it! Ok, I’m sure that this is a stupid question, but when I use that it only shows services, not events. How to I get the events to be added to the drop-down menu?

ok. Sounds good. How would I go about hiding the time on the front end? There’s a custom CSS for that?

And I do see where I can customize the events list, but I don’t see an option to hide the time. Not sure if it’s there and I’m missing it somehow?
Hello Kristin,
You can provide the URL of your page where the event list is located and i can try to hide it with the custom CSS code.
Thanks.

You just need to make sure that using the shortcode for the old booking form, this one [ameliabooking]
You can also find the full list of shortcodes on this link.

Hello Kristin,
Time zone visibility is the option to display your time zone on the booking form.
For the event, you want to use a different shortcode (as you can see in the list that I've provided), in this case, it's [ameliaevents type=list]
Feel free to test all the options and shortcodes.
I hope it helps.
