Selecting single cell email address

    Hello

    We love wpDatatables. I need to get in the weeds a bit. I need to keep the member's email address private but allow another member to email them using a form. I am sure that you have seen something like this before.

    I will have members fill in a table and one column will contain their email address. On a public SQL table the email column will be hidden with another cell with an email button linked to a form where the email address is hidden.

    Any thoughts on how I can reference the email cell in a row and parse that into some html code to forward it to a form?

    I also have to figure out how to have another column with a button to run html code the link to a form.

    Thanks

    Hi Graham,

    Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

    I am sorry, but i am not fully understanding all the details of this use-case, and what you wish to achieve exactly.

    For example, if you were just making a simple hyperlink with our Table, that would be very easy to achieve;

    but if i understood - you need to hide the Email address in a Field - but the functionality needed will be to somehow allow a User to click into a cell from this Field;

    Then after it is clicked, to parse a hidden Email value to some HTML Code and to forward it to a Form?

    I am sorry, but at the moment, we do not have any built-in feature to achieve that;

    You can suggest it to our developers, though - they will do their best to make a solution in the future.

    Please feel free to search on our suggestions page

     to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there,  and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.

    You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;

    and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

    If you have coding skills and wish to try to make a custom solution now,

    you can check out our available hooks for Developers on this documentation and see if you can find any hook that might help.

    Please be advised that custom solutions with hooks are not included in our support.

    You can also research resources such as Stack Overflow to see if any other user perhaps found a workaround.

    ( We do like to give examples for certain solutions, but for this use-case, we, unfortunately, don't have anything yet)

    2. As well as having another Column with a button to run HTML code to link to a Form;

    Our String cells can render Custom HTML, but i am not sure what is needed for that.

    Unless if you just need a simple hyperlink that can redirect to a Page where you have some Form?

    If you can please elaborate a bit more on that second point, which functionality is needed there, if you can provide any kind of an example?

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards,
