Hey there, Awesome Customers!
Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.
During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.
We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Catch you on the flip side!
Warm regards,
TMS
Is there a way to allow frontend users to show and hide frontend columns without me having to write some custom JS?
Just like how its possible to hide columns on the backend, I want to allow frontend users to hide certain columns on the frontend so that they may then export just the columns they want at the time. I know you have a report builder plugin, Im asking if WPDT itself has this simple functionality already for frontend users
Hi Uriahs,
When it comes to showing/hiding Columns for front-end Users, please check out how we explained all the possibilities on this Page.
Please note:
2. Regarding the export question / which Columns will be exported, etc :
The table tools functionalities are based on a 3rd party HTML5 library and they are not customizable. Unfortunately, the library allows very little “fine-tuning” of the generated files, so font, size, and other properties cannot be changed.
There are some limitations in this library we will emphasize for your awareness:
-
If you need better PDF export options, our advice would be to acquire something like the WP Advanced PDF plugin, which offers a lot more options when creating PDF files from our tables, along with other content on your website.
I hope that covers everything , but let me know if i misunderstood what you need to achieve.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

I'm not asking how to do this via the admin area, I know how to do so already.
I'm asking how can a frontend user disenable and enable columns themselves
Hi Uriahs,
My apologies - i have sent you the completely wrong Documentation Page for that subject, this is the right Page, under the "Column visibility" section.
As it says, If this button is turned on for the table, your front-end table users will be able to toggle the visibility of the table’s columns.
Please note that it also includes the columns that you’ve hidden from the back-end.
You can un-select the button to hide the column and select it back to show it.
I hope that helps.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
