When a user is on the german version of the website most of the booking form is in german. Only the step "Bringing anyone with you" shows up in english!
This wasn't the case before the last update.
I checked all the settings and the translations and there everything is correct!
The next problem I'm facing since the last update, is that the booking notification is sent in english and not in german after a user completed the booking on the german website! I also checked these settings and they are all correct set from my side!
There must be a or some bugs in Amelia since the last update, which causes these problems.
I really like that you integrated the cart feature, but probably a bit too fast. Since then Amelia causes quite a lot of problems and conflicts!
Because it's a live website, I need urgent help! Please solve these problems asap.
Have you checked the page local language? The notifications are sent to the customer based on the page locale language. If there is only one default language, it will only send the notifications on the default language. If you have a multi-language site, it will follow the page locale of the page.
Looking at your website (https://private-guide.ch/en/home/) if I run the line to check the language, I can see that on the page "de" page, the language is set to 'en_GB'
And on the page that should be in En, the window.localeLanguage is set to 'de_CH_informal'.
So, this is mixed up. Please, try configuring this properly, and let me know if it works.
This is not correct! As you can see in your screenshots the english version of the page is set to "en_GB" and the german version to "de_CH_informal".
The icon in the top right corner of the header is to change the language and not the language your using on the page ;)) Maybe that's why you thought there's a mix up from my side.
I also checked the language settings and the main language is set to "de_CH_informal" and the translations to "en_GB".
The problem isn't that the whole booking form on the german (de_CH_informal) pages is in English. Only the part ""Bringing anyone with you" which pops up from the bottom is in English. And also the booking confirmation is sent out in english instead of german. The rest of the booking process is in german!
There needs to be a bug in Amelia, which causes this mix up! I didn't had this problem before the last update of Amelia. I'm only facing this problem since I updated Amelia!
Can you please check your code, because there's somewhere a bug and this causes this language mix up.
I need a solutions asap, because it's confusing for the user/customer.
Apologies for not understanding this right. After further investigation with the QA / Developer team, we have found out that there is an issue with the label translation. We are already working on fixing this as soon as possible.
For the time being, the workaround is to roll back to 7.0 or use LocoTranslate or POedit to translate the fix until we fix the issue.
It's a pretty simple process, download the LocoTranslate, select Amelia, find the language, and search for a string that you want to translate.
Sorry again for the inconvenience and let us know if you have any other issues or questions.
I don't want to roll back and I don't want to use LocoTranslate or POedit. I already use Polylang and I don't want to cause a conflict.
I just hope the bug fix from your side comes asap.
By the way; There's also a similar bug in the cart notifications. As I was customising the cart notifications for employees and customers I went for and back in between them. Sometimes I just changed something in the default, sometimes in the language 1 and sometimes in the language 2 notifications for the customers and as I went back to do changes to the employee notifications (there's only the default and no translations available) the changes I made before were gone. Until I realised, that there are somehow multiple versions (in my case the default, language 1 and language 2) also for the employee notifications. When I changed form the default cart notification for customers and went over to the cart notification for employees, I was able to set these up. When I switched from language 1 cart notification for customers to the cart notification for employees I also had to fill in the informations I wanted. And so on...
I hope you can fix this problem asap – then it not only affects the booking process it also affects the notifications which are sent out in the wrong language...
That's understandable. We will also troubleshoot the second issue you've provided the information about and we will do our best to fix this for the future update. (We are already working on it)
Should you require any additional assistance or if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
I also had the same problem using WPML but filled in the missing translations manually. I manually translated the notification templates for each language but when I make a booking using the website in a language other than english the emails sent out are always in english, not the alternate languages (German and Dutch). No Amelia tutorials have helped so far.
Apologies, but when you have questions or issues that are not related to the title of the active ticket, please open a new ticket, and we will help you there. In that way, issues and questions that are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other customers or our support agents can find them easily. Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket because of the reasons that are described already.
