When I use the option to limit a table to page width and apply word wrapping, is there a way to limit the number of words or characters that show to keep a notes column from making the table cell too tall?
I will keep working on this and going to get help from our Developers, to see if we can come up with any kind of a custom workaround that you might use.
In the meantime, you can search online on places such as Stack Overflow and similar, to see if any user managed to somehow set a 'word wrap' while limiting number of characters that show, or to somehow 'force' a certain height of an HTML element while doing that, to 'cut off' a part of it, also try with "overflow" property.
For now, we are unable to find a valid solution to achieve it, but if we find one soon i will make sure to return to this ticket and share it with you.

You can also suggest a built-in solution, and other users can vote on it, so our devs will do their best to add it in the future.
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

Hi Bob,
We do not have a built-in way to limit the number of words shown when the word-wrap is enabled.
You can only try with some Custom CSS, but so far i am unable to find the right selector and style that 'forces' it to not go over a certain height.
For example, i tried adding a Custom CSS to a "note" column, and added some dummy long text in it.
Activated word-wrap, and i tried with this, but it does not work :

Thank you, I submitted a suggestion for a new feature.
It would work similar to an "excerpt" for a long wordpress post and keep table row height under control.
Hi Bob,
You're welcome, i am happy to advise as much as our Support can cover.
Thank you for adding the suggestion, our management takes great value from it and they carefully review each user development suggestion.
Thank you for the added detail, we will pass that to our developers, as well.
If anything else comes up in the meantime, please don't hesitate to open new tickets.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
