Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

    Hi,

For my website, I need to show some daily and monthly data. Monthly data should be updated once a month but daily data should be updated everyday. Currently, I am using a custom plugin to show data on following link:

    https://islamguide.eu/tr/namaz-vakitleri-amsterdam/

This plugin retrieves data from google sheet placed on my google drive.

I am also using cache plugin to store data but problem with that is I need to clear cache daily to update daily data.

Anyways, can I use wp-tables plugin to show such data and automate it to update it on daily basis with good loading speed?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Kr.

    Malik

    Hello Ali,

Thanks for showing interest in wpDataTables.

If you simply need to update your data daily, you can easily achieve this with our Plugin.

First we will advise on two ways how you can use Google Sheets as source data :

    There are two ways how you can use Google Sheets data in our plugin ;

    1. Link the table to Google Spreadsheets,

when you modify or add new rows on the source sheet,

the plugin will show those changes within 15 minutes (since there's cache on Google's side). More details here

If you don't want to face any issues with cache, you can use the Google Sheets API method. ( more details here-)

    - But this table will not be ediable from the plugin side,  you can just edit the source sheet.

    -

A useful feature to help with loading speed of linked Tables, please check out Cache and Auto Update Cache.

    2. Or If you import the file, the plugin reads the source file and creates a manual table

Once the table is created, it is no longer linked to the source file, so changing data in the table will not show up in Excel or Google Spreadsheet, and vice-versa.

To modify this table, you can either switch to the Excel-like view

and then select and copy the range of cells you want to paste from the source file, and paste it in the Excel-like view,

or you can import a new/edited CSV to update the table, as well, in the following ways :

    • Update manual tables: Replace data within an existing table.
    • Update manual tables: Add data to an existing table.
    •  Update manual tables: Replace the entire table with new data.

    For Manual tables ( and SQL Tables with server-side processing enabled) you will also have the Auto Refresh option;

    - Auto-refresh feature for the tables, using the built-in functionality of our plugin is only possible for server-side enabled tables, such as a manual table, or a server-side SQL query-based table.

This option will appear on the "Data source" tab above the table.

You can add the interval (in seconds) after which the table will refresh itself, thus displaying any changes that happened in that time period.

    -

And i just wanted to point out that you can try wpDataTables before purchasing

on our sandbox Demo sites ( you can find links for the main plugin Demo,

as well as add-on Demos, in my signature),

and there is a 15-day money-back guarantee period,

so if you purchase the plugin, you can safely fully test it out, and if it doesn't fit your needs you can request and receive a refund in that period. ( same goes for all plugins and add-ons)

Let me know if you have any additional questions. smile.png
