Hi, (I'm a software developer, so the description is technical)
I just ran into an issue: I accentially added my admin user as amelia customer and thus couldn't create new events. This is the correct behavior of Amelia and should not be changed, but I had some problems because no error message was displayed. In the end I could debug the issue, because in Developer console I saw the message 403 "you are not allowed to create events", but the UI did not show anything. I assume it is supposed to show an error bubble instead of the usual "success" bubble, when there is an error during event creation.
For some issues, when there is a conflict or you are not able to perform certain operations, you can see the error in the upper right corner, but for some, you are only able to see the issue in the developer console. Sometimes, these issues are not even visible in the developer console, but most of them are visible, and if you are a developer, it's easy to troubleshoot them.
An average user without technical knowledge will not be able to troubleshoot issues like this, but most users are reporting these issues to us, and then, based on previous experience, we are able to provide support.
For the time being, this is how the Amelia is configured, but there is always room for improvement, meaning that you can suggest this as a feature on our suggestion page.
Should you have any other questions or issues, feel free to ask.
thank you for the extensive answer. I agree that in this case the error is not actionable, but I found another one where this logic may be different:
When I try to add a customer to an event where she is already signed up, I click on save and nothing happens. I can not see that an error occured, but there is also no "success" bubble.
When I open the network console I see a 409 http error together with this translated error message:
{"message":"Du hast diese Veranstaltung bereits gebucht","data":{"customerAlreadyBooked":true}}
This surely should be displayed in the app? Maybe something is only preventing the popup from being shown and it is a quick fix :)
Honestly, I'm not familiar with the logic that's behind the errors displayed on the front, but I can certainly double-check with the developers. I will get back to you as soon as i have feedback from them.
I've got the feedback. This error should be displayed on both the frontend and backend, but, unfortunately, it's not an easy fix. Developers will look forward to fixing this for future updates. Be sure to keep up with the updates, but following our changelog page.
Of course, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
