Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm reading about the passcode option in Zoom documentation and i was able to find that there is an option that can be enabled / disabled. Since there is only core integration with Zoom, there is no option in Amelia to enable / disable the passcode option, so my guess is that is related to the Zoom settings.
Another thing that i see is the fact that is possible only for the participants joining by phone.
Not sure if those attendees who were able to join, joined via pc or phone, but certainly, there is an option for the people who join by phone.
Here is the link for the documentation regarding the passcode.
The thing I think happened is that I turned off waiting-room security because I have 62 persons attending and I don't want to have to confirm late attendees.
So I guess you never include the passcode, but it would be great if it was defined what is included in the zoom-link you send out.
This is the answer from zoom:
Thank you for contacting Zoom Support, my name is Vince.
I understand that you're having issues with the invite email not displaying the passcode. I'll be glad to assist you with this.
Checking the invite in Zoom to compare, it shows your passcode on it. Since you've mentioned support from the integrated app Amelia referred you to us since it may be a setting within Zoom, I'm thinking it's the embedded passcode setting that's messing with their integration.
With this information from Zoom support, I'll make sure that i forward this to the management/developers so we can update the documentation. Judging by the previous message, where Zoom support sent the steps, you were able to disable this option?
Not really, I am not sure what your code for the zoom event does. I don't trust it anymore so I wont use the notifications in Amelia for online events.
Amelia seem to create a zoom meeting for appointments that has a waiting room, so that works for only one client. I don't understand if you do this or zoom magically understands, because I have set meetings to use passcode instead of waiting room in zoom
When there is a Zoom join link rendered in the notification template, clicking on that link will lead you to the waiting room, but there should be no embedded passcode when using the Zoom link for either event or appointment. I'll make sure that i double-check with the developers regarding this. Also, we will make sure to update the documentation, as well.
Should you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Apologies for the long wait. While the developers are going to update the documentation, here is what i was able to find. As i guessed, this has to be set up from the Zoom side.
The "Waiting room" setting has been enabled by default after a certain Update, they say for security reasons (please note that the video is 3 years old)
Thank you, I still don't know which link AMelia will fetch from zoom, one with or without the passcode, so until that is deffined in a trustworthy way I won't be using Amelia for my events at all.
Not only because of this issue, but also because of integrations with other plugins where Woocommerce directly works better.
Hi, I just had an event and I noticed (because half of the people could not log in) that the automatic zoom url
%zoom_join_url_date%needs a passcode that is not included in the mail.
This was not satisfactory at all. The link from Zoom that I sent in another mail worked so I got some attendees...
Is this the expected behaviour?

Again, documentation is not up to speed :)

Please do.
And with a guide how to set it up in zoom så that the link actually works.
Thanks // Jonas
Hello Jonas,
Apologies for the long wait. While the developers are going to update the documentation, here is what i was able to find. As i guessed, this has to be set up from the Zoom side.
The "Waiting room" setting has been enabled by default after a certain Update, they say for security reasons (please note that the video is 3 years old)
Please see this video showing how to disable this in your Zoom Account settings.
Also, in the Youtube comments, people say that, even after they disabled the Waiting room, it does not apply to already scheduled meetings.
After this step, you have to recreate all the meetings in Zoom as new - and they should have the Waiting room disabled.
I was also able to find the Zoom documentation regarding the passcode on this link.
I hope it helps.
