Hello, I made a private ticket but waiting for 3 days already for a reply, so I'm trying via a public ticket... Maybe then I get a quicker reply. It's very urgent, the customers don't receive a link to set their password so now it's not working how it should...

Hello, when I test and make a new appointment in the Amelia form, everything goes well. I get added as an Amelia customer but not as a WordPress user. That's an issue because now the email with the login credentials also doesn't get sent because of that... I don't see anything wrong in the settings (screenshot attached), what's going on? What am I missing?

Amelia doesn't use WordPress users but uses their own separate database. They can only login to the customer portal, not the WordPress backend. What should be possible is assigning existing WordPress users to Employees - but this feature has not worked for me ever, in over three years using the plugin.

Hi Daniel, that's strange because whenever I toggle on the option on the customer panel to use a password, it sends an email from WordPress with a login link with /wp-admin behind it and a link to change their password. Like when a WordPress user is added, exactly the same. I have attached a screenshot from a test I did yesterday.

In none of the tests, I have received an email with login details from Amelia. That's actually what I want, but it only sends these standard WordPress login emails, and I can't change the text of that...

Now to solve it, I have deactivated the "use password" option and the client receives an email with a custom link to their account. Without a password. But I would rather work with a password...

So how can I get Amelia to send an email with login details instead of WordPress?

I cannot answer that unfortunately. Password never worked for me so I simply used the login links using Amelias own login. I think it's the much better option anyways, because it saves you the headache of customers emailing you because "the password doesn't work". People and their passwords.. it's terrible. Much better off with the login link. But that's just my 2 cents :)

Sorry about the confusion. You posted a public ticket and everyone can comment. I just shared my experience. I guess I won't do it anymore lol.

  • Sofie replied

No worries :) I'll just keep it without password. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

    Hello Sofie and Daniel,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Please note that we are going through tickets in the order in which they are received and/or responded to, so if the response (in this case from the other users) is received, it will push the ticket like it already has the response.

I see that Daniel already explained some details, but here is a short explanation of how this option should work -

If this option is enabled every time a new customer makes an appointment they will automatically get a WordPress user with the Amelia Customer user role and email with login details from WP, and that WP user would be connected to the customer created in Amelia. If someone is already a WordPress user, and they book an appointment for the first time in Amelia while logged in to WP, the customer created in Amelia will be connected to that WP user and they will get the Amelia Customer role in WP (there are plugins for managing multiple roles in WordPress, such as User role editor). This way they will have the same login info for the Amelia customer panel and WordPress.

I hope it helps. Please, let us know if you have any other questions.

    Kind Regards,

    Stefan Petrov

The issue is already solved. But I decided not to use this function because the client then receives the standard Worpress email with login information, and I'm unable to adjust this email. Which sucks, because now I can't use it. I don't want the clients to recieve an email with a direct link to the WP backend in it...

So if there's no way to adjust this email, so I can link the customer panel instead of the WP backend, then I don't see the advantage of doing this.

I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.
