You can use the standard type of images, such as jpeg, png etc.

I've just tried to upload the picture of 7000px x 5000px and Amelia rescaled it to 2560 by 1651 pixels. I can double-check the precise settings, but Amelia will rescale it anyway, as long as it is within the file size limit.

I've got the feedback.

We do not have a specific size in px, and that is because of the responsive display, to be specific - for all entities we have two versions of images and one is the original size and the other is WordPress scaled version - 80x80.

 For new forms eg. in catalog new form we display images in 16:9 ratio and in the gallery we display full-size images, for events form we display 1:1 ratio on cards and have limitations on events gallery in height, but images are displayed in the original ration, i think that WordPress has some limitation on image size in MB but there is no limitation i width or height. 

As mentioned previously, there are unlimited variations how our customers can display our forms (different container width on pages) so we can't have this privilege to limit them on picture width or height, our job is to display those images in the best manner.
