Pending appointments help

Because Amelia doesn't allow conditional logic, which I feel is a major down fall of the plugin, I see that I will now have to put all appointments as pending. Which is a royal pain.

Anyway before I do this, when an appointment is pending is the person who books the appointment automatically charged?

I ask this because since you don't have conditional logic and yes I saw it was a feature request, when someone answers a question I have and the answer is no they should not be allowed to book. If they are still charged automatically if we put all of  the settings as pending we lose the fees we are charged when they are charged if we have to reject or cancel their booking. I know all of us who are using this plugin that charge for services don't want to be giving free money away in credit card fees we will not get back!

An example question do you agree with our terms and conditions, if the person says no we don't want them to book or be charged.

    Hello Jen,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Even when the default status is set to pending, an appointment is paid in advance (automatically charged).

This works for online payments, though. When the payment option is set to "on site", then, all the payments are collected on the site.  You can check this in the finance section when there is an appointment booked.

As for the conditional logic, as you already, you can suggest this as a feature on our suggestion list. But, when it comes to the custom field "terms and conditions", you can set it to only give the option to agree, so no customer will be able to book an appointment without clicking on "i agree" option.

I hope it helps. Please, let us know if you have any other questions.

    Kind Regards,

    Stefan Petrov

That is unfortunate as there are other booking apps that you can charge later, and it's not automatic if you set it that way, I see this is another negative for this plug-in. There are also others that not only allow this, they also allow for you to prevent people from booking, if they fail to answer the right questions, you block people from booking.

I am so disappointed in the money and time I spent on this plug-in it really needs more features and work and it's really not what our company needs at this point.

    Hello Jen,

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to see that you are disappointed with Amelia. Please note that we are constantly improving user experience by adding new features and fixes. It may look that at a given time, Amelia doesn't have a certain feature, but, as you already saw our suggestion page, you can always add a suggestion for a feature that you would like to see in Amelia.

If something is not available in Amelia, we are always trying to come up with a workaround (for example, the terms and conditions button), until the feature is added.

If there is something else that we can help you with, please, let us know.

    Kind Regards,
