Hi there, I have an event which takes place across 3 dates, but they are not uniformed in any way - so by that I mean it is not 3 days in a row, it is not 3 Mondays in a row etc. For example - the event which I want to sell tickets for is a 3 day 'talk' event. Day 1 is on Monday 6th November, Day 2 is on Wednesday 15th November and Day 3 is on Friday 17th November (as that is the only time we can secure the venue and also we want time between the talks). How do I do this in Amelia? It seems you have 'recurring' events but that doesn't help as that is only for daily, weekly, monthly etc. How can I set my recurring event across different custom dates? Also, if the event were to take place in a different venue for each of the dates, how do I set that up? Thanks, Keith
Thanks for reaching out to us. Let me explain how Events works. So, as you already know, you can make a simple event, specify the dates, location, if it's going to be recurring etc.
You can also set different dates when making an Event, for example this
And set them to be recurring (weekly 3 weeks), so eventually on the event list, you will have something like this
When it comes to the location, if you set the location to be a specific one, it will be for all recurring events, since they are repeating, otherwise, you would need to specify the location for each event.
I also want to point out the difference between the Multi-Day events and Recurring. You can find more information in this article - Recurring VS multi-day events
I hope it helps. Please, let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi Stefan, thank you for expalining this. I was not aware that the ability to add multiple dates (to create as you call it, a 'multi-day event') was there, so my apologies for that.
This does, however, lead me onto something you have mentioned.... the location: - Quite often, a multi day event will not actually be in the same location - on the contrary it may be that Day 1 is at location 1, and day 2 (10 days later lets say) is at a different location for availability reasons.
So how do I go about setting a different location for each of the dates in a multi day event? You have mentioned 'otherwise, you would need to specify the location for each event.' - well I cannot see an option to do that. Please can you explain?
I was referring to the scenario where you have to make each event separately. When you are about to make an event by selecting the date, for example, Oct 27 to Oct 29, Amelia will create three events, and they will be displayed like this
If you are about to change the address on one, it will change the address for all events. When you make separate events, then you can change the address for each event.
I hope it helps. Please, let me know if you have any other questions.
Yes, that is correct. When you make a multi-day event, Amelia will create events with the same ID's, and if you are about to change the location for one, for example, it will change the location for each of those events.
I hope it helps. Please, let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Stefan,
OK thanks. So are you saying that Amelia cannot have a multi day event where each day of the event can be in a different location?
Thanks,
Keith
