Subject: Issue with Employee/Location Selection Options When Booking Packages
Dear Amelia Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I would like to bring to your attention a matter related to the recent update of the Amelia plugin. While the release notes (changelog) for the latest version 6.6 state: "Improvement: Added options to hide the employee/location selection options when booking packages," I would like to clarify that this improvement is only partially accurate.
Indeed, when customers purchase a package and make a reservation at that moment, the employee and location selection options can be hidden as intended. However, if reservations are made at a later time, the user still has the ability to choose an employee, and this should not be the case.
To illustrate this issue, please refer to the attached images that clearly demonstrate the problem.
As you can see, even when customers are booking appointments after purchasing a package, the employee selection option remains visible to the user, contrary to the expected behavior mentioned in the update notes.
We want to emphasize that we do not wish for end-users to choose employees during their reservations. Allowing such choices can unnecessarily limit their scheduling flexibility, preventing them from, for example, changing the appointment time without being constrained to a specific employee.
I kindly request your prompt attention to this matter and appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. Ensuring that the employee and location selection options are consistently hidden for package bookings, whether made at the time of purchase or afterward, is crucial for providing a smooth and user-friendly experience to our clients.
Please let me know if you require any additional information or access to our system to investigate and rectify this matter effectively.
Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry for the late reply.
"Improvement: Added options to hide the employee/location selection options when booking packages," refers to an option available in the Customize section of the Step by Step Booking Form, when it comes to Packages options customization.
What that essentially means is the option to enable/disable whether or not the option to select the employee or location is going to be visible on the booking form, when a customer chooses a package.
According to your example, we were not able to reproduce this case. We tried both ways, when a customer buys a package from the front end, using the booking form, and when an appointment has been booked for a customer through the backend.
Whenever we log in to the customer panel as the customer who has the booked package, we are not able to see the option to select the employee or location.
So, on our local host, everything works properly. What is left to do in order to troubleshoot this further is to ask for a staging site and WP admin credentials, so we can log in to your WP site to see what going to.
You are right. Somehow, i missed the part where you need to have at least two employees assigned to one service in order for Amelia to show the option to select an employee, sorry for that. While the option to hide the employee selection is available for the front end, later, when a customer wants to book an appointment from the customer panel, it still has the option to select an employee.
My suggestion would be to suggest this as a feature on our suggestion page so this can be implemented in future updates. In case you don't know, you can always follow our changelog page in order to keep up with the updates.
I appreciate your response; however, I must express my disagreement with it. This issue is something that was supposed to have already been resolved and clearly presented as such in your changelog. Rather than suggesting that I submit it to the feature suggestion page, I kindly request that you escalate this matter to the relevant department. I believe it is an oversight (to put it mildly) in the supposed improvement made in the latest plugin update. It seems to address only a part of the problem, and not in its entirety, as I initially pointed out. What purpose does it serve to allow the employee/location selection to be hidden in one place if, in another, it once again offers the user the option to choose an employee?
Thanks for the feedback. We understand what you are referring to. I've already forwarded this to the management making sure that the functionality might be lost, as per your details. I just want to point out that this is something that can't be implemented without planning, but certainly, it makes sense what you are referring to.
Thanks for pointing it out, and, as always, if you have any additional questions, we would like to assist.

Hi Stefan
Do you have more than one employee for that service and package in your local host ?
