I am writing to express my concerns and share my feedback regarding the Amelia WP booking system. As a professional who relies heavily on efficient and effective tools to manage my schedule, I have found Amelia WP to be somewhat lacking in its functionality compared to other booking systems I have used in the past.
One of the main issues I have encountered is with the calendar integration. It appears to be extremely limited in its functionality, which has been a significant hindrance in my day-to-day operations. For instance, with Simply Schedule Appointments (SSA), a system that I initially perceived as more basic, I am able to choose which calendar in my account to add bookings to. Additionally, SSA provides a separate multiple selection option that allows me to choose which calendars to cross-reference for conflicts or busy slots in my schedule. This thoughtful and comprehensive calendar integration is something that I find missing in Amelia WP.
This limitation, among others, is gradually becoming a deal-breaker for me. I had initially hoped that these were mere oversights on my part or perhaps I was not looking in the right places. However, after further exploration and use, it seems these are inherent limitations within the system itself.
I originally purchased Amelia WP for a client project but was met with additional challenges regarding its WooCommerce integration and how it handles extras with appointment types, so the client ended up going with a different solution. Consequently, I thought I could instead utilise the purchased LTD license by replacing SSA with Amelia WP on my own website. Unfortunately, this too is proving unsuccessful due to similar limitations in other areas (mostly Google Calendar integration).
While Amelia WP does seem to check off many options in its feature list, the way many of these features are implemented leaves much room for improvement. The system appears promising on paper but falls short when put into practical use.
I believe that constructive feedback is crucial for growth and improvement. Therefore, I hope you take these concerns into consideration and work towards enhancing the functionality and user experience of Amelia WP. I am confident that with some adjustments, Amelia WP can become a more robust and flexible booking system.
