Hi, is there a way to include/display an event's tag in notification emails?

Also, can I change an event's displayed content depending on the tags used?

    Thanks

    Hello Ying,

I'm afraid that we didn't quite get what you want to achieve exactly? Can you explain to us in a little more detail, and send us a couple of screenshots?

We wish you all the best.

Hi Marko, this ticket has 2 questions:

    1. Can I show an event's tag in the notification email? eg, I can use placeholders like "%event_name%" to display the name, is there an equivalent for the event's tag? eg "%event_tag%"? If not, is there any other way to get this information sent in notifications?

    2. Can I display different content for an event depending on the tag I use? ie, can I dynamically change the event's "description" depending on which tag I use?

The reason for needing the above: From a business point, we want to keep some similar events as the same type, but depending on which course we list it under, we want to change the displayed content slightly.

    Best regards

    Hello Ying,

We have a number of placehoders that you can use for events and you can find them all in notifications section like this

We have %event_name% placehoder not tag but this should help you achieve what you need

You can add a tag for any event and that tag can be the same for differnt events. Add the description of the event itself in the description section and when the customers search for events by tag, they will see those events and when they select an event, they will see the description for that event.

    This should help.

Hi Marko, thank you for the suggestion. Much appreciated.

Our use case is a little different from the scenario depicted.

We run a motorcycle school, we use Amelia events to represent classes/ courses.

    We have some private classes.

There are 2 private class types: Refresher and Beginner. From a configuration/ backend point of view, they are identical to us from an admin/ organisation point of view.

We do NOT want to pre-determine the class types: we have 2 pages that briefly outlines the 2 class types.

We want to configure some events, and if a user visits either the Refresher class page, or the Beginner class page, the same list of events should be displayed. when they are displayed, they are in a "raw" state.

When the user books either Refresher, or Beginner class, we want to determine which page the user booked the events from, if they booked the event from the Refresher page, then we want to notify our teachers it's Refresher, vice versa if they booked Beginner class, we want to get notified it was booked as a Beginner. ie, the booking, encodes the event with a tag (or something) so we can get notified/ can tell which class it is:

An Example: on Tuesday 11:00AM, we have an 1 hour slot for one of our private classes.

We create this as an event in the backend.

In the front end, under both the pages, "Refresher Private Course" and "Beginner Private Course", we want this event to be listed.

If a user made a booking for this event from the Refersher Private Course page, we'd like to find a way for Amelia to notify us it was booked from the Refresher page and notify us. If it was booked from under Beginner Course page, then it becomes a beginner class.

The booked class, will then disappear as bookable from both pages. To sum it up, we want a dynamic way to configure the event to be a different type (the only difference, the pricing, time, etc, are all the same).

Can you tell me a if there is a way to achieve this?

    Thanks!
