Hey everyone!
With the holiday season upon us, we want to share our upcoming working hours:
- New Year: Our team will be off on January 1st and 2nd. We’ll be back on Friday, January 3rd, to respond to any messages received during this time.
- Weekend: As usual, we don’t work on weekends, so January 4th and 5th will also be non-working days.
- Orthodox Christmas: Our office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 6th and 7th for the holiday.
After that, we’ll return to our regular schedule and assist you as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find tons of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel), which might just have the answers you need while we’re away.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Warm regards and happy holidays!

Is it possible to add a line break to column headers? Like in HTML with <br>. Thank you very much.
Hi Michael,
This is an interesting use-case, but unfortunately we tried and we don't have a valid working solution at the moment that would get our Headers to appear in multiple lines in Tables.
-
For example, i tried with an Excel source file, if i add a <br> tag, as you said, that was also my initial attempt,
it does not work, even if i try as a "Displayed header",
in the box where we input a header name, it is always as a one line box, at least for the time being.
You can make a development suggestion, and our devs will try to make a solution in the future.
Please feel free to search on our suggestions page,
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
-
If you wish to try a custom solution right how,
the only idea i have what you can try is,
you can research online to see how to 'replace text with CSS' , there are several articles where users claim they achieved it in general with HTML and CSS,
so you can try to apply that method with the headers of our tables,
but i am not 100% sure if it's possible even like that.
-
I hope that helps.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

Hi Milos,
thanks for the hint with CSS. I actually solved it with that:
.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable > thead > tr > th {
white-space: pre-wrap!important;
}
Kind regards
Michael
Hi Michael,
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

Thank you very much for sharing this workaround with us, we will make note of it.
I am just curious to try this on my own Tables, and for some reason i can't get it to work.
For example, i tried to make a source Excel file and there i make just a new line with "CTRL+ENTER",
but it won't work, and i add the CSS to the table or the Page :
.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable > thead > tr > th {
white-space: pre-wrap!important;
}
I also try with adding <br> to the Displayed Header name, but still no results.
If possible, could you show us a bit more details how you constructed the origin Header,
and where you added the CSS, just to have that noted for other users?
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

I just added the following entry in the CSS:
.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable > thead > tr > th {
white-space: pre-wrap!important;
}
I did not make any changes in the table header. Attached is an example of my table headers.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for this clarification; now I understand what you did,
so basically, this is a solution to have a word wrap when the Header has a longer text, it looks great.
We will definitely make a note of it, it will be useful for other users who need this use case,
at least until our developers add an improvement in the future for a more user-friendly option.
Thanks again.
Kind Regards,
