we just conducted a test with our QA Team to ensure that we do not have any bug for this behaviour,
and we can confirm that on our Test Site the Pay By Link for Stripe works perfectly.
Here are some screenshots from our testing.
We set the default Appointment Status to Pending for this service,
and enabled Stripe as Payment method, as well as "Pay by link",
and automatically change Appointment status after it is paid.
Of course, also we make sure to set the notification placeholder
Then we book from the back-end as a Pending Appointment,
so our customer gets the "Pending notification template" in the Email,
with the placeholder rendering the link.
When we follow it, the Stripe Sandbox correctly processed the payment and Amelia changes Appointment from Pending to Approved.
So we can confirm this is not a bug,
but something specific on your website only.
Can we please check the back-end configuration on your end?
If you can point out the Service Name, and if we have your permission to set your Stripe into Sandbox(test) Mode,
then we can try to book with our Customer to see how it works?
After that, of course, we will quickly revert everything as it was, and revert to live Stripe Mode.
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

using stripe as payment gateway (set to default method) and have enabled:
Allow payment via Payment Link AND Update booking status automatically
as per the instructions (notice)
Please note: For this option to work you need to add new payment link placeholders to the message templates
In the notifications I place the %payment_link_stripe%
however NOTHING is being sent in that parameter..
Please ADVISE ASAP!
nor is there a way for the client to pay via the customer panel..
