Removing Customer Account Access

On WordPress, under Amelia > Settings > Roles Settings > Automatically create Amelia Customer user, if you hover over the question mark, it reads: If you enable this option every time a new customer schedules the appointment he will get Amelia Customer user role and automatic email with login details.

This is good! I want this for use on my end, and I have it enabled. However, I don't think I want the Customer Panel enabled. So, with that, what does the "automatic email with login details" look like/entail on the customer's end? What does it enable them to do? Can they delete their login details if they want? Can I? (If so, how?) If I delete the login details, will that also automatically delete the customer user role on my end?

    Thanks!

    Hello Laura,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you do not want to use customer panel you do not need to. You just do not enable customer panel option in role settings and that is it. When you enable this option the customer role will be created and they will get mail to create access as a customer on the WordPress in the backend. This is the automatic mail that is sent from WordPress not from Amelia and for this you would nee to reach out to their support team for more information. Since this is sent directly from them and we can not influence this.

Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,

Yes, I know I don't have to enable the customer panel. My question is not about that.

Under roles, there is an option to enable the customer panel, and there is a DIFFERENT option to "Automatically create Amelia Customer user."

Even if I don't enable the customer panel, I CAN enable "Automatically create Amelia Customer user" (Amelia > Settings > Roles Settings).

When I don't have the customer panel enabled, what is the function of an Amelia Customer user, on my end and on theirs? From the description on Amelia, If you enable this option every time a new customer schedules the appointment he will get Amelia Customer user role and automatic email with login details.

Specifically, what does the "automatic email with login details" look like/entail on the customer's end, without the customer panel enabled? What does it allow customers to do? Can they delete their login details if they want? Can I? (If so, how?) If I delete the login details, will that also automatically delete the customer user role on my end?

    Hello Laura,

When this option is enabled Automatically create Amelia Customer user  – every time a new customer makes an appointment they will automatically get a WordPress user with the Amelia Customer user role and email with login details from WP, and that WP user would be connected to the customer created in Amelia.

If someone is already a WordPress user, and they book an appointment for the first time in Amelia while logged in to WP, the customer created in Amelia will be connected to that WP user and they will get the Amelia Customer role in WP. This way they will have the same login info for the Amelia customer panel and WordPress.

If you do not use panels they can log in to WordPress and see their appointments that they have booked with you. Hope this explains it. As for how it looks and what they can do with that for this you would need to contact their support team since this is not sent from Amelia this is sent from WordPress and this is their mail and feature.

Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best.

    Have a nice day.
