Hello,
We are a non-profit organization who works in wildlife education and rehabilitation. We hold various fundraising events as well as educational programs and tours for which Amelia's booking has been most helpful. However, some of our programs are organized by the venues where they are held not by us directly. For example, a public library reaches out to us for a summer program and they handle the pricing, booking etc. We would still like to advertise these programs on the events calendar but cannot figure out a way to create an event that does not have a capacity or booking option. For now we have it set up so there is a custom field that requires prospective attendees to agree to a statement declaring that they understand they must go to the venues website to book. However, we wish to minimize consumer confusion, as undoubtable and despite our best efforts, some may still assume they are booking their spot in the program through our website and may show up to the event only to realize that it is full, as bookings must be done through the organizer not us. If there are any features that we are not understanding or that may be able to help us with this situation please let us know.
Thank you,
Brenna Fricke
Hello Brenna.
Thank you for reaching out to us.
There's a workaround that you can use. For example, there's an event on July 22nd, and you create it like that:
Below this, un-check "Booking opens immediately" and "Booking closes when event starts" checkboxes and define them so they are in the future:
Then, on the bottom, configure the description in HTML mode, where you can use the "link" icon and hyperlink a word leading to the different site, where people can actually book this event:
The event will appear in your list:
And when people click on it, they will not be able to book it, but in the description, they'll be able to click on the link, leading them to the site where they can actually book that event:
I hope that helps!
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
