Checkboxes are only available as a filtering option, not as an editing option. When you enable the "Filters in a Form" option, in the Display tab above the table, they will appear above the table, expanded (checkboxes, I mean). Drop-downs can't be expanded at all times.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
thank you for your answer. Would it be possible to post a screenshot of where to find the "Filters in a Form" option? Because I can't find it wether in the display tab above the table nor the column settings.
Having the same problem here - my "client" (wife) would like checkboxes rather than dropdowns when customers are selecting e.g., location for a service. Sounds like you found a solution, but when I search the website for "multiboxes" I don't get any results. If either of you could post a screenshot of where this setting is to be found, I would be grateful.
Sorry, I guess I was confused. I came to this topic by searching public tickets for the Amelia plugin. Re-reading the thread I understand that you guys are actually talking about a different product, i.e., wpDataTables. So, does that mean that the option Tomasch came upon is not available in Amelia?
Yes - This ticket is for a completely different product, our wpDataTables, which are used to build DataTables, and they have various advanced Column filter options - amongst them is the CheckBoxes, Selectbox, MultiSelectbox, etc.
When it comes to Amelia's Location selection during the booking Form, if i understood, you would need to change from the SelectBox to CheckBox?
Sorry to disappoint you, but that will not be possible, because in Amelia, when you choose a Location, it has to be only one Location for each Appointment.
In other words, we won't be able to choose multiple Locations for the same Appointment, as the Employee can not be in more than one place at the same time, and the Employee can not do more than one Appointment at the same time.
A checkBox is usually used when there is a possibility to chose multiple selections, so in this case, it would not be valid to use it.
At the moment, we only have the SelectBox as the default one, that can not be changed.
But, you can certainly leave a future development Suggestion, our Management will consider adding an option like that, i just can't say an ETA if or when it might be added for choosing of a Location.

Dear support team,
a client of my company is using your datatable and wanted checkboxes instead of a dropdown menu. Is it possible with just wpdatatables?
Alternatively, would it be possible to display / have open the dropdown fields permanently?
Thanks in advance, and a good day to you.
Best regards
Tomasch

That would be very helpful. Thanks again!
Hey Tomasch.
Sorry about that, the filters are in the "Sorting and Filtering" tab above the table:

Hey Aleksandar,
I found the solution! I've selected multiboxes and not checkboxes! I should have read the documentation better.
Nonetheless, thank you very much for your support, and have a great day :)
