We're pretty small and have just two employees and one service.

When I first set this up about two months ago, the employee calendars were linked to the site. It was working in both directions. The new appointments would appear in the employee's calendar & when the employee blocked out time on their calendar, the booking system would prevent bookings at that time.

It seems to have been broken for the last month - the direction of new bookings appearing on the employee's calendar is still working. But the reverse direction of employee blocking out time - does not appear to be getting sucked back into the website.

The two employee calendars in question are both outlook of type.

Can you help me debug this and figure out where its broken.

I've tried disconnecting the calendar from the employee properties and reestablishing it - didnt help.

We've also gone online to outlook.com and confirmed that the via the website that the blocked out time is present (that is, confirming that the blocking appointment was successfully synced from the employee's phone to outlook.com)

    Hello Mike,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can do that easily you just need to check for 3 things

    1. You have option Remove Outlook Calendar Busy Slots in Google Settings in Amelia plugin. When you enable this option it will be removed the busy slots in your employees’ Outlook Calendars from their work schedules in Amelia. When enabled, time slots from the Amelia Calendar will be removed whenever there is an event in the Outlook Calendar.

    2. In order for these slots to be removed the events in Outlook Calendar must be set as Busy.

    3. In settings/inetgrations you gave option called maximum number of events returned to 999 please make sure that is set to that

And make sure to purge the cache.

    This should help.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks Marko for your help - I really appreciate the quick response.

In 1. below I believe you mean
Amelia section -> settings -> Integrations -> Outlook Calendar tab -> "Remove Google Calendar Busy Slots"
and enable that. (It was already enabled).  You also implied enabling
Amelia section -> settings -> Integrations -> Google Calendar tab -> "Remove Google Calendar Busy Slots"
(I did it to be safe, but apart from this setting the Google Calendar isnt set up at all in my instance of Amelia)

For 2 below, I believe you mean
Amelia section -> settings -> Integrations -> Outlook Calendar tab -> "Maximum Number Of Events Returned"
and set that to 999. It was 50 and I have made this change (Im optimistic that this will get it going again - I will need to test with employees later)

For 3 "make sure to purge the cache" - can you clarify how/where I do this?
(Im wondering if there is a cache in Amelia that previously got full with the 50 events (and now will eventually get full with the 999 events) and purging the cache resets this. )

    Thanks

    Mike

    Hello Mike,

Regarding cache, you can use any cache plugin for example W3TotalCache and purge the cache from site.

Most likely issue is that it was set to 50 instead of 999 since in that case it only checks for next 50 events and after that if you have more then 50 they will not be synced properly.

So please test this and let is know how it goes.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks - Yes the increasing from 50 to 999 has fixed the issue.

Out of interest for the future, what would be the fix if the employee gets to 999 calendar items?

    Hello Mike,

There would be none since in Outlook it can go to 999 and in Google up to 2500. So in that case you wold need to switch to Google but it has never happened that someone go over 999 per employee in the future.

We are glad that we were bale to help you and If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best.

    Have a nice day.
