Painfully incorrect translation

    Hi,

    I've just begun setting up Amelia for my client, and I've noticed a major Polish translation issue that will prevent me from allowing Amelia to go live - in payment methods, the on-site payment method is translated as 'Na stronie' - which in Polish means on site, as in on the website, not physically on-site where the appointment will take place - the correct translation is 'Na miejscu'. How can I manually correct the translation? I assume your release schedule means that for you guys to correct the translation would take time.

    I'm unable to release Amelia to the client's customers until the translation is correct.

    Thanks,

    Marcin

    Hi, Marcin.

    We do not have a professional Team for translations,

    our users are sending us their translations, then our developers add them as default in plugin updates.

    But we realise that for some users, perhaps they need a specific use-case translation,

    and for others it is not ideal.

    You can easily edit the translations of Amelia with any translations plugin.

    I personally recommend Loco Translate, because it has a very user-friendly UI, you can just search and replace almost any string you need.

    Generally speaking, it also depends if you plan to have a multi-language site or just one/default language as Polish.

    We will advise you for both cases :

    1.  If you only need one language, then just set this on the main WordPress settings/General settings/Site Language,

     and please don't add any additional languages in Amelia/General settings/Manage languages.

    In that case, you can simply translate the default Notifications as needed,  and Amelia will only load that default site language for you.

    2.

    But if you have, for example, let's say, the main language as English, and Romanian as an additional language on site -

    first, check which is your main language for the site in WordPress general settings;

    then just add the "additional language" in Amelia settings/General settings/Manage languages:

    Then you will see in the Notifications, at the top right - this dropdown selection for additional languages;

    and another language will appear.

    The default language will always load first,  then if you choose the additional one from the dropdown - you can translate it for that version of the notification template.

    Please check out more on how to use Amelia for multi language sites;

    and additionally please read this as well   Using Multiple Languages in Amelia

    Let me know if that helped? Thanks

    Hi, Marcin.

    My apology, actually in our New Step 2.0 Forms, you don't even need a translation Plugin.

    Our devs added this built-in option to customize labels for payments.

    Just go in Amelia Customize 2.0/Select Form 2.0/ Payment Summary Step/Labels/Payment Segment :

    And here you can edit the labels in any language you add in Amelia.

    As pointed out before, if your default site language is already Polish - then just edit the default label for "On Site".

    Thank you.

    Hiya,

    Loco Translate seems to be perfect - I had no idea it even existed. Thanks for your help! :)

    You can go ahead and close the ticket.
