We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hi,
I'm setting Amelia up for a customer and I've met a problem.
My customer wants to sell group sessions to which people can individually take part.
As I understand the current way the plugin works for group reservations, it is made to allow the reservation to people who already know each other and who want to take part as a group - like a couple, a family, a group of friends. So it's not at all the same use case.
On the reservation form of a service available to groups, the first step asks the customer about how many other people will come. Which is not appropriate for the use case of my customer, who organizes group classes of individuals who didn't know each other before.
Is there a way to make it work differently? And to remove the step of choosing the number of people, to make it 1?
(I could modify the plugin code and make a child-plugin, if you would give me for example a function to disable this step.)
___
And second question, related to the first one.
In a group reservation, if the minimum quantity of attendees is not reached, what happens?
The reservation should be automatically canceled, a certain time before the date, but is it actually the case?
Also, a cancel notification should be automatically sent. Is it the case?
And finally, a payment refund should be automatically started, with Stripe, Paypal or else, but I've searched in this forum and it seems Amelia can't do that for the moment?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Ludovic
Hi again Ludovic
When you're editing a service, navigate to the "Duration & Pricing" tab, and disable the "Bringing anyone with you" option if you don't want to allow people to bring additional people when booking an appointment for that service. You can also limit the number of additional people using the other slider above.
If you want the customers to be able to book separately until the maximum capacity of a service is reached, please navigate to Settings/Appointments and enable the "Allow booking below minimum capacity". This will allow people to book appointments until the maximum capacity is reached. If you turn off this option, as soon as someone books above minimum capacity, the time slot will close.
If the minimum capacity is not reached, the appointment will remain in the "Pending" status. There are no options that will automatically cancel the appointment if the minimum is not reached, but we'll be working on that in the future. For the time being, the employee assigned to the service should manually cancel the appointment and in that case, the "Appointment Canceled" notification will be sent.
Our developers are currently working on automatic refunds, so this will be included in the near future, but at this time, you would need to access the payment provider's panel and manually refund any deposits or full payments related to that appointment.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
