A lot of how this plugin works in counter intuitive for a gym that offers facilities rather than staff members. It has been very difficult to use and had to do many workarounds with other plugins in order to do some basic things you would expect it to do.
1 - We have 2 location with multiple facilities that have various rooms, saunas, ice baths and other things people can book, self serve, no staff required, like any other gym out there.
2 - In order to achieve this i have had to create staff members for every service, again, not how the business model works. Now each facility, ice bath, sauna has a certain capacity, ice baths, 10 booking slots at the same time, this now seems impossible with Amelia now.
3 - We have members, once they sign up to a membership, they can book any facility. Currently there is no recurring payment, membership model in the system. We have had to use woo commerce, but now people that have purchased a membership cannot book as its disconnected between a purchased membership & Amelia - Now all the members have to call to book, where Mind Body, the system we are trying to replace, was all connected.
4 - We cannot use your packages, as the whole system is wrapped around a staff member, not self serve, 1 slot, 1 time, not 10 slots per time. We tried using packages, but would be impossible to implement due to this.
How come it's all based on staff and not a facility, surely theres a lot og gyms out there who want to get rid of MindBody that need this model to work.
1. 2. Our plugin currently supports time slot booking during one day, so if it is just renting of co-working space for a couple of hours a day, then it is possible to use our plugin for this. If, however you need multi-day booking then you should check out our new feature Events.
You can either create rooms where services are and create an employee for each room (a different one, so they can be bookable at the same time) and hide the employee selection with a simple CSS (we will explain later on ) or you can create each room as a separate employee and create just one service to attach to each room. Just so you know each employee needs to have an email, so if you don't need a separate email for each you can create Gmail or outlook the same email with +number, and they will be seen as a different one (a would later explain you this in more details, but you should know that you need to use Gmail or Outlook).
If you create just one employee and rooms as services, that means that rooms will not be bookable at the same time, since there is just one employee that is working (one employee/rooms one working hours - multiple employees/rooms multiple working hours). That is the reason why I offer you two other workarounds: rooms as services but with several employees hidden from the front end, or rooms as employees with one service.
3. Amelia doesn't yet have a membership feature, but it will be developed as a part of the Developer license (maybe even as part of the Pro license) in the future.
Any membership plugin (like MemberPress, or Ultimate Member, etc.) allows you to create pages that are inaccessible to some (for example non-logged-in users). You can also create custom logic, so a user can access this page once a month (for example), but we're not sure about that, since we don't work with Membership plugins.
4. At the moment, this is how it works. We do have a plan to implement it in the future the way you described, but there is no ETA on this.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi,
A lot of how this plugin works in counter intuitive for a gym that offers facilities rather than staff members. It has been very difficult to use and had to do many workarounds with other plugins in order to do some basic things you would expect it to do.

Any feedback & answers would be good,

Hello Jamie,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
1. 2. Our plugin currently supports time slot booking during one day, so if it is just renting of co-working space for a couple of hours a day, then it is possible to use our plugin for this. If, however you need multi-day booking then you should check out our new feature Events.

If your employee email address is [email protected] you can make more employees with the same email by adding numbers like [email protected],[email protected]... )
And then you can use the ameliabooking shortcode and on the front-end, you can hide with CSS dropdown with Employees.
You can use this CSS rule on the page between style tags where you will hide Employee dropdown:
If you create just one employee and rooms as services, that means that rooms will not be bookable at the same time, since there is just one employee that is working (one employee/rooms one working hours - multiple employees/rooms multiple working hours). That is the reason why I offer you two other workarounds: rooms as services but with several employees hidden from the front end, or rooms as employees with one service.
