Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. If they are shown and active they can booked.
Maybe there is an option that can help but we cant guarantee it. You can set for example that minimum time required before booking is 1 year and if they start in 1 week the customer should not be able to book them.

Is it possible to display an event calendar on a web page, but not allow people to register for events displayed there?
If it helps, these will be people with WordPress logins and we have User Role Editor installed.
