In general, there should be no issues with updating the plugin to the latest version, but in some isolated cases, it could cause some issues that are also dependant on the server settings and configuration. Feel free to update the plugin to the latest version and let me know if you have any issues after updating.
Justin - Also look into creating a "staging site". It's a copy of your site under a different domain to test changes on. Example:
yourdomain.com (original site)
dev.yourdomain.com (staging site)
You can then make all sorts of changes to your staging site without affecting your original site at all, because it's a copy and on a subdomain (separate from your main domain).
There are plugins that can make staging sites, like "WP staging", which has a free version and works fine. Contact your webhost if you need help setting it up.
The only catch here is that if you make appointments in Amelia on the staging site, they will reflect upon your original site's Amelia and Google Calendar (if you have that setup), unless you setup Amelia from scratch in your staging site. Not a big deal, just be aware that you will need to cancel those test appointments if you make any.
Lastly, if you aren't already setup with backups for your wordpress site, do it now. Updraft has a free version of their plugin, it works well and is easy to use. You might find that's easier to deal with than setting up a staging site, especially if your site doesn't get a lot of traffic.
I'm seeing tickets where people are having issues on the update.
How can I test or roll my site back to a previous version if my appointments, services or packages are lost?
Also I just update everything by going to the plugin page, clicking add new, and selecting the .zip file correct?
