Hello, when i modify the settings of the plugin, in the settings page (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpdatatables-settings)

Hi, Roberto.
Can you please check in the main plugin settings/Separate DB connection;
do you have the "Use separate connection" option checked/enabled?
And if so, please do a Test for this connection at the "Test DB settings" button.
If this Test fails - the plugin settings will not work correctly, in terms of , if you wish to change any main global settings like this.
What you can do is, if that is the case, please uncheck this "Use separate connection" field;
then save changes - and later you will be able to save any settings you need;
later on, of course, if you need to add a remote DB again, you can do so, just make sure that the Test of this Connection is successful.
Let me know if that helps.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
