Thank you for being so understanding, and we hope you enjoy the long weekend!
This issue I was able to resolve, but it needs to be brought up to your attention. I love this Plugin but I ran into an issue that took me 8 hours of my time to fix.
I was trying to hide the wdt_ID from being viewed. I tried everything under the sun and I also searched for similar cases.
You documentation needs to state that in order to Hide the Wdt-ID from view, you need to first Disable it by clicking on the icon "Show/Hide Column" from the Column List
BUT ALSO YOU NEED TO Disable the "Enable/Disable in Global search" Icon from the Column List
I tried everything from recreating the table etc. after 8 hours, I was able to hide it from view with the steps above.
Hi, Mark.
I am sorry, but i am struggling to fully understand this issue.
Basically, hiding a column from the table's view ( column visibility)
and allowing to search or filter by that column value are two separate things in the logic of our plugin.
We have a lot of users with various use-cases who like to hide a certain column but they wish to be able to filter or search by it on tables,
that is why our developers made a "visibility" option, but the "filtering" and "searching" is another option.
For example, i can hide this wdt_ID column from the Manual Table, and it will not be visible in the actual table;
but let's say if i search for number 2 - it will go through all the columns which have the "Enable/Disable in Global search" on the column settings / or in the column list, as you said.
And if i leave the "wdt_ID" as one of the "searchable" columns, it is going to give me that resulting row,
like on these screenshots :
First we show an example how it looks if we leave the wdt_ID as a visible column,
and of course - this Client "Connor John" row will be one of the results, since the table searches for all columns that have number 2 in any cell.
Now, if we hide the wdt_ID column from table view,
we can still search by it - but that column is not actually visible in the table.
So, i was not able to reproduce this issue.
If you can confirm that we understood correctly - for you, when you have hidden the columns visibility,
it was still visible in the table until you disabled it from global search?
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
