I have a site header that has links that are shown or hidden based on whether the user is logged in or not.
When I log in to the Amelia Customer Dashboard, the links on my site header do not update, as the page hasn't been refreshed.
Same thing happens when I log out. I can still see the header links on the page as if I was logged in.
I have looked into using the default Wordpress login as this would force a page refresh, but I really like the speed and simplicity of the Amelia login form.
Is there a way to force a page refresh on log in / log out through the Amelia form, or another elegant solution where the header will update?
Thanks for getting back to me. I've attached a screen recording that shows my issue.
You'll see when I log in to the customer dashboard, the header links do not update. I have to manually refresh the page after logging in.
Same thing happens when logging out. I have to manually refresh the page to update the header links.
I found this to be a problem on another site I did with Amelia. Because the page isn't refreshing when you log in, the header links don't update until I visit another link on the site, or manually refresh the page.
My question is – is there a way to force a page refresh when the user logs in or out? Or a way to update the header.
Just an update on this issue. I've installed the latest version of Amelia (6.2.1) and the login problem has become different.
Before installing the update, we had the problem where I would have to refresh the page after logging in/out to update my header links.
Now, my header links do not update at all when I log in to the customer/employee panels and refresh.
Steps to replicate:
Deactivate all other plugins
Activate the default 'Twenty Twenty Three' theme
Add a header menu item that only shows if the user is logged in
Using Incognito mode in another window, log in to the customer/employee panel
Refresh the page and you should see the new header menu item won't show
Go to (url.com)/wp-admin and you'll see the user has not been logged in to Wordpress
What I can gather from this is:
The function between when a customer logs into the customer panel and Amelia attempts to log the user into the Wordpress installation isn't working as intended.
I've checked the PHP errors through the Wordpress Query Monitor plugin, and also Inspect Element and there are no console errors that are showing.
