Appointment sharing, possibly

    Hi,

is there a way to have two different services sharing the same appointment? I want to create a package of services that pre-books appointments over a period of time, but I also want people to be able to buy appointments singularly and have them in the same class as the the pre-bought ones. Does that make sense? It's just that the pre-bought services will have appointment cancelling and rescheduling disabled while the regulars services (that are already defined) don't, that's the only difference.

    Hello John,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are not sure that we understood you all, but we will try to help you as best we can.

Appointments for packages and regular service are one and the same, that is one service.

So you create a service and then create a package for one or more services. Appointments from the package are the same as single booking appointments, they are not two services.

If the service is a group service, it doesn't matter whether someone books from a package or only one appointment for that service, every customer will be able to book that appointment until the capacity for that appointment is filled.

    Hope this helps.

If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best.

    Have a nice day.

    Hi Marko,

Thanks for responding. The fundamental difference is that services bought through the package can't be cancelled or rescheduled while another service, bought singularly, can. As far as I can tell that means they will need to be different services differentiated by those settings. However, I'd like them to be able to share appointments as they are fundamentally identical, other than those settings.

    I don't know if that's any clearer.

There's also going to be a ticket where I ask if I can book appointments in advance when the purchase of the package is made. One thing at a time though.

    Hello John,

The appointments form a package can be canceled or rescheduled since the are same as one time regular appointments as we mentioned. Once they book the the appointment form a package they need to click on back to appointments like this

And then they will the appointments and they will be able to reschedule or cancel regardless if they are from single booking or a package since they are one and the same

In any case you can not combine 2 services at the same time even if they are duplicate. They will be considered as 2 separate services but you do not have to since appoitnemtns form a package and regular booking are appointments from the same service.

    Hope this explains it.

    Hello Marko,

I think I may have explained the requirements inadequately.

At the moment we have a service that clients can book on our site as per normal. They can reschedule or cancel as they wish. What we want is to create a package of a service for either 2 months or 6 months that they CANNOT reschedule or cancel; if they miss the appointment, it is lost. The two services are otherwise identical; just the ability to reschedule/cancel is different. Does this require two different services? And if so, is there an ability to still share the appointment, which is a class with up to 12 people, with these two services?

    Hello John,

Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. There is no option yet in Amelia where you can turn of the option for canceling the appointment only the option for reshcedule can be turned on in role settings Allow customers to reschedule their own appointments.

But there might be a possible workaround for this. If you set that minimum time required for canceling or rescheduling is 6 months in services/edit service/settings like this

Then this option should not be available in theory for customers.

    Hope this workaround helps.
