When a new user books an appointment, there should be a confirmation and a link get send out, that directs the new user to the login of the customer panel or the customer panel directly. However, I get a mail with a logon to the wordpress backend and a wp user is automatically added.
This is not what should happen according to documentation and is not my intention. I want to point the customer directly to the customer panel where he can edit his bookings. I don´t want every customer to become a WP user.
This is still the case, there is no solution to stop sending emails to users from wordpress. The article you linked, did not help. I had a workaround that worked for some time, but does not anymore.
In addition to the constant update problems I will switch to a different plugin if Amelia is not able to fix it.
I don´t know how other Ameliausers work like this, but it looks totally unprofessional in my opinion if a User books an appointment they get 2 Emails, 1 for their appointment and 1 for my wordpress backend, that they should have no business with at all.
DId you develop a solution in the meantime or is it just this way and will stay like this in future too?
The issue is that this is a default WordPress feature and there is no option to change it from our end, as WordPress, by default, sends a new user email when the new WordPress user has been created.
Can you please look at the following article as this has helped many of the users in the past?

Hello Felix,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
For that purpose, you can add the %customer_panel_url% placeholder to the appointment-approved notification template.
In regards to the automatic WordPress new user email sent, please check the following article.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
