I'm pretty sure this is not achievable taking into consideration how the plugin is intended to be used but doesn't hurt to ask I guess.
I'm working on a project where client sells day tickets for a race track. There is also a possibility to book the whole track for personal use for a whole day or for a portion of the opening hours. So I would need to have the time slots to be dynamic. Here's an example: the track is open from 10:00-20:00 and it's booked for personal use between 14:00-16:00. There should be possibility to buy a day ticket for 10:00-14:00 or 16:00-20:00. The track has different opening hours for saturday, 10-18 and sunday, 12-18. I'ts not making this any easier 😁
In general, this is possible with Amelia but we do not know how your business works.
But if your employee work on this service from 10:00-20:00 and if your service lasts for 2 hours and it is booked in this time slot 14:00-16:00 the other customer can book the other time slot form 10-12, 12-14, 16-18, 18-20.
As for different opening hours you can set this up easily in employee work hours. Since service work hours depends on employee work hours
Sorry, I didn't explain the situation clear enough.
I have it working as you described but the thing is that both services, day ticket and track reservation, can last for 10 hours (8 or 6 in the weekends). So if there is a track reservation between 14-16 then the time slot for day tickets should be EXACTLY 10-14 and 16-20, NOT 10-12, 12-14, 16-18, 18-20.
The clients would be confused if there are multiple time slots to choose from when the day ticket gives them the right to drive on the track as long as they want if there is no reservation for personal use.
If your service last 2 hours - you sad that you have a reservation from 14-16 - you can not give the option to your clients to book 4 hours only from 10-14 and 16-20.
If your service last 4 hours you can offer 10-14 and 16-20 time slots but in that case you can not book 2 hours slot from14-16.
So if your service last 2 hours the customer will see 2 hours time slots like this 10-12, 12-14, 16-18, 18-20.
Yes, I do understand that and the principle of how Amelia works. Maybe my title was wrong at the first place and it is creating some confusion about what I'm trying to achieve. The right one might be "dynamic service duration".
So I guess the conclusion is that unfortunately it's not possible to achieve what I wanted.
The client didn't mention at first that the track should be possible to book only for couple hours. I first had the impression that you can book it only for whole day. The latter I was able to achieve but not the first one, at least so that it's very clear for the person booking the service that when you buy a day ticket, you can use the track all day, unless there is a private reservation.
If I would have known about the couple hour track reservation for personal use, I would have figured out that Amelia isn't the way to go. Frankly I'm not sure if there is a ready made solution for my needs.
So I'm open to any suggestions how I would configure Amelia so it's as clear as possible for the client who is buying day ticket, that the time slot doesn't matter as long as there is no private reservations.
At the moment to be honest I do not think that there is a plugin that can achieve what you need. And also You can not set this up in Amelia. If we understand you correctly you want to sell all day long ticket but to inform the customer that in some time slots they can not use the track since it has private reservations. Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. This will have be done in person or you would need to send some mails to that customer that you have reservations for some time slots and this will have to be done outside Amelia. There is no workaround for your need at this time I'm afraid.
If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.
