We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

I have data on about 90 countries, things like:

    • population
    • size
    • population density
    • GDP
    • price of mobile subscription
    • Number of mobile subscriptions
    • number of internet users
    • etc etc

I would like users to be able to choose which data they would like to see represented on a graph, for example to compare the number of internet users with population density; then change this to viewing two different datasets e.g. the price of mobile subscriptions and GDP.

Is there a way of doing this? I can see how I can preselect some datasets and let the user choose which countries to view using the follow table filtering function in WPdatacharts. But I can't see a way of allowing the users to select the data themselves. Any thoughts much appreciated!

    Its a brilliant plug-in, BTW!

    Hi, Martin and Syed.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

If you wish to make a solution for users to be able to choose / change which columns are selected for pulling data in the chart,

unfortunately with the current capabilities, it is not possible to remove or add columns for chart from the front end,

we have to go in the plugin back end, then go to this chart wizard and add or remove the selected columns for the chart there, then save changes and refresh the front end page.

Only alternative solution, not the same result but similar,

with a custom chart callback you could set which series will load by default on the chart,

for example you can set for all series to be " deselected"/hidden on initial load,

( but the legend would always show all columns),

and then a user can click on one or more series to toggle show or hide specific series as they wish.

We don't have an example to show, thought,

so you would have to create a custom chart callback.

You can check our documentation about wpDataCharts callbacks

Our devs added an example for each chart engine, so you can modify it to reach your goal.

    • Every chart exposes several options that customize its look and feel. Charts usually support custom options appropriate to that visualization. wpDataChart callbacks allow adding options that are available in Google Charts APIHighcharts API, and Chart.js API
    • All necessary resources are available in charts engines API (depends on which one you use). Every engine has a different approach to chart settings. In wpDataChart callbacks, you have to adopt those settings to the wpDataChart object (you can take a look at examples for each engine in our documentation, and also in the Support help center). A huge number of examples for any area of programming can be found on stackoverflow.com (typing your problem in google and at the end add "site: stackoverflow.com" and Google will search only that website). Also, a lot of examples of charts, chart settings, and customization can be found on jsffidle.net (typing in google for example "line chart highcharts jsffidle")
    • Please note that using hooks or wpDataTable and wpDataChart callbacks requires a certain level of programming skills and included support refers only to advice.

    Hi, Martin.

No problem, i am happy to advise as much as our support can provide.

I hope that these informations might help as an idea what might be achieved if your developer modifies one of our dataChart examples.

    Fingers crossed.smile.png

Of course, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us through new tickets.
    Thank you
