Until version 5.1 when the user was making a choice in one of the filters, all other filters where automatically populated with the choices that were valid for that choice; so options (in the other filters) that were not present in the records, disappeared.
Having upgraded to the latest version we lost this functionality. What have we done wrong? I guess it may be due to the additional functionality about the AND logic, that does not refreshes automatically and it is only active in the "next"/"adjacent" filter.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

Thank you for pointing this out, i will check with our QA Team if they perhaps already "caught" this behaviour, and if they can confirm it ,
or if not, they will have to reproduce the issue on our Testing sites to flag it as a bug.
Just to confirm some points to be sure.
On your Video you shown with the latest version if you choose Adidas and ALAMA in the first filter, the second is blank;
and also for the Adidas filter, only the next filter shows only relevant choices ( only the ones for brand Adidas), but the others show all the other filtering values as well;
you have the older version 5.0 and Powerful filters 1.3.1 , because on that page everything seems to work without the issue?
- And on the page from your Video with latest versions, the issues happen.
The best would be if you could allow us remote access to back-end of both examples, then we can try to recreate similar tables on our end.
We will not touch anything on these sites, if they are live/production versions,
so we would just check all the settings, to make it easier for our QA Team to reproduce on their Test site.
Let me know if that sounds OK and if you could grant us temporary Admin access for both sites;
-
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
And if you could point us to the latest version front-end page where you have that table, as well.
Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation, as always.
Our developers isolated the bug, and they'll add it to their queue for fixing.
They will do their best to build a fix as soon as possible, they should be able to build a fix in time for the upcoming update, which is planned for next week, but I can't guarantee it,
since sometimes unpredictable factors can postpone development.
Please keep a lookout on our wpDataTables changeLog.
It will be stated there during updates which bug fixes have been implemented at each update.
Thank you for pointing this out for us, it saved a lot of testing time.
My sincere apology, i have to correct my statement.
Actually, i just got word from our QA Team, they confirm that our developers have finished building a fix,
and just important to note - since this bug is coming from the Powerful Filters add-on, it is not part of the main wpDataTables plugin update, if that makes sense, but the add-on update will be released very soon.
Our QA Team is just performing final tests, and as soon as they confirm all the testing is successful,
the update for Powerful Filters add-on will be released.
The update should be offered to you on your WP-Admin dashboard in the Plugins,
and we have a tab on the changeLog page for add-ons, so it will be stated there for the Powerful Filters new version ( when it comes out soon),
but I will also make a note, and if you wish, i can notify you when it's released.
In my troubleshooting I found another (completely different issue) that I will open another ticket though (it has to do with the computation of sums - possibly due to datatype in MS SQL).

Hi, Dimitris.
Our QA Testers have reproduced this issue on our Test site.
So far, they can confirm that this seems to affect only tables that have server-side processing enabled.
The Manual tables can not have server-side disabled, so they are affected,
and the SQL tables, when we have server-side enabled.
If we disable server-side processing on an SQL table, the issue is not present, also for all other non-server-side tables.
They will conduct further testing and i will report back when we have more informations.
Thank you for reporting this.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

Hi Milos,
I just tested the 5.4 version and realised that the fix didn't make it in the latest release.
I hope that it wont be forgotten...
Cheers!
Dimitris
Hi, Dimitris.
You are correct, our developers did not fix this bug yet,
it is not in the latest version 5.4, but i can confirm that they will keep working on it,
it is on their list of tasks, so i can assure you it will not be forgotten, we will follow up and they will build a fix in one of the future updates.
I hope that it might be possible for the next one, but i can't guarantee it with certainty, some bugs take longer to fix than others, sadly.
You can check our changeLog at every update, and they will do their best to work on it as quickly as possible.
Thank you once again for reporting this, we really appreciate it.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

I just downloaded the latest version and it seems that you have fixed it!
Thank you so much guys!
I think I rushed to celebrate... when I added the latest version of the advanced filters it stopped working.
Hi, Dimitris.
Yes, it should be fixed with the 1.4.1 Powerful Filters release,
our QA Testing Team could not reproduce the issue anymore, they tried everything they could think of, so we considered it completely fixed.
Could you perhaps record a short Video again to demonstrate what you found /
or in other words, which steps you took to get it to stop working?
Of course, if the video shows any confidential details, please send reply as PRIVATE for safety reasons.
Thank you.

I updated it and everything looks fine now!
Thank you!
In my troubleshooting I found another (completely different issue) that I will open another ticket though (it has to do with the computation of sums - possibly due to datatype in MS SQL).
Hi, Dimitris.
I am absolutely delighted to see that this has resolved the issue with the filters,
that is great to hear! Thank you for letting us know.
I will thank our developers for fixing that issue with Powerful Filtering.
-
For the new issue you found, in regards to computation of sums, of course, you can open a new ticket and we will do our best to advise.
Thank you.
