Because PHP is no longer supported on the Windows hosted Azure Wordpress site I had to create a Linux site but DataTables Plugin will not connect to my Azure database using the same credentials that do work on my windows hosted website that is still up and running. Any ideas why this doesnt work?
I can see on the previous ticket that you had an error connecting initially with the Azure Database,
but if i understand correctly, since then, you were able to use it with our plugin on a Windows hosted website,
and that one still works , and our plugin can connect there;
but now you have made a new Linux based site/ hosted from a different server?
And here, is our plugin showing you some errors when you use all the same DB credentials, when you try to Test the Connection?
Can you show us what kind of error can you see when you do that?
Basically, we can try to advise you as much as possible if we are familiar with a specific error,
but unfortunately, there is not much that we can do from our end,
because If there are some errors when you press "Test DB settings" button in our Separate DB connection tab of the plugin,
the errors are returned by the hosting server, and only displayed by wpDataTables -
there's no additional log within wpDataTables that would distinctively show you what's behind the error.
Can you please check if you have the following drivers installed on that other server, and activated?
These drivers need to be installed and activated on the server where your WordPress website is. After you install and activate those drivers, it should work fine.
If you're not sure how to install the drivers, please reach out to your hosting provider.
The server to which wpDataTables is connecting has its own method of establishing the connection, and we're using PHPs logic of connecting to separate connections.
Firstly, my sincere apology for the waiting time on the reply.

So, unfortunately, we are not able to tell more details about this error from our end,
since the error is coming from the server you are trying to connect with.
These drivers should be installed on the server where wpDataTables is installed (the website's/WordPress hosting server, not the server where the database lies).
So, you could reach out to the hosting support and see if they can assist in getting any additional details behind the error,
and have them double-check if the necessary driver for the connection is installed on the WordPress hosting server.
