when an employee access their appointment front end emplyee area and wants to make a new appointment is there a way to add a new user / student or does the user already have to exist as a student (previous wp user)?
Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. Customers can only book with already the customers that already exist in Amelia. There is a possibility that there will be implemented option so that employees can create new customers in the future but we do not have eta on that at this time.
Features are pushed up on our "to-do" list when there are a lot of customers requesting those features, so having your vote as a customer can be beneficial to this feature being developed sooner.
If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.
If you did the integration of Google or Outlook calendars and if you connected your employee to the calendar in the employee modal then you can do this easily. They need to create new events in the calendar and set it as busy. Those events that are set to busy won't appear as available for booking on the front. And that is it.
Hope this helps.

Also I'll kindly ask you to add it as a feature suggestion on this link https://features.wpamelia.com/
