I just need to understand how paypal works and how does it integrate with squareup or any other merchant. Does it integrate? Why can't I just integrate Ameila to whatever POS I choose?

Thank you for reaching out to us.
You can not use Amelia with any POS that you choose because developers must create specific integrations for each payment method and that ist quite that simple. We are not familiar with squareup, but you can use PayPal with Amelia.
Amelia itself doesn't handle the payments but we have integration with several payment systems such as: PayPal, Mollie, Stripe, WooCommerce and RazorPay. You can read more about it on this link https://wpamelia.com/configuring-payments/#paypal.

Features are pushed up on our "to-do" list when there are a lot of customers requesting those features, so having your vote as a customer can be beneficial to this feature being developed sooner.
