I was wondering if the plugin has an option for a "service break". My client has a hair salon where she colors the hair. She usually is working on her customer for a half hour then the customer needs to wait a half hour and she continues to work after that half hour with the customer. In that free half hour she wants to be able to have people book appointments (so a break in the hair color service). Is that possible with your plugin?
Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. When an employee is booked for 1.5 hours for example, that employee can not be booked in that time slot again to prevent double booking. So unfortunately this is not possible at this time.
Hello Fares (and Jurgen) as we mentioned on your ticket, unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia. In most types of business, this will lead to double booking so unfortunately this is not possible in Amelia to achieve.
There are plugins that do it (though they lack other features). I think this will be a feature that will be requested more in the future, so please consider it. Hair salon's really need this, since it will cost time and money if a customer can't book in between hair colouring services. I think it would be achievable with making an option for a "special service" to assign to the service's that need it.
I know it's easier said then done, but please atleast consider it.
Of course, we will consider it and I will forward this ticket for further review. But if this is possible to be implemented in Amelia so that it doesn't disturb other functions or if it will be implemented I can not say and I cannot make any promises.
The only solution I have found for the moment is to create a 1h30 service and ask the employee to manually modify the booking for this service to another 30min service and to clone this booking to create a second one of 30min with a 30min break between both bookings.
I see it's possible to create webhooks with Amelia, do you think it's possible that I create a webhook that listens to the booking creation events and calls an API to modify the booking and create a second booking (if it's not possible with an API maybe I can do it in the database directly) ?
I know it's not the cleanest solution, but it at least allows me to automate this manual task that we plan to do while waiting to have the functionality on Amelia.
We do not think that this is possible to achieve since this is how Amelia is designed and this will require changing the Amelia's logic.
At this time it would be easier just that your employee creates 30 minutes busy events in his calendar and in this way to prevent further booking for that 30 minutes. This is not perfect solution but hope it helps.
