how can I add a logic to the placeholders I put in an email notification?
Say I have a zoom event, then I would add %zoom_join_url_date_time%, but if I have a non zoom event I would add %event_period_date_time%
If I add both, and it's a zoom event the info is repeated and looks just bad. If I only add the zoom placeholder and it's not a zoom event, then I get no date and time for the event in the email.
It's a good suggestion, though, so I'll forward it to our developers. At the moment, you would be able to create custom notifications, so you'd create a custom template for all Events that have Zoom users linked, and use the default notifications for the other Events.
This way, your Zoom events will have a different email notification, showing only the Zoom link and the other events will use the regular email template.
thank you for the solution! It's a good workaround! You know, expanding on this idea I would recommend even to let me create a custom notification based on event location, say online events use X notification and in person events use Y notification.
By doing it this way, you insure that the organizer does not forget to add that specific event to the correct notification
But yeah, until some logic is implemented, this will work fine!
The issue with creating custom notifications based on locations is that Zoom and Google meet aren't actually saved as locations in Amelia. They are integrations that can be enabled either through settings (for Google meet) or through the service settings (for Zoom). So we would first need to create these as online locations, and then we would be able to address the suggestion to create custom notifications based on this.
I'll forward it to our developers as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Christian.
I'm afraid something like this can't be done.

You're welcome, Christian, glad I could help.
