I've created a wordpress user and assigned amelia employee role to him.
When I try to configure the amelia employee in the amelia panel, I have a problem with the email. I try to set the same email as the wp user but I receive the message that the email is already in use.
I solved the issue. I had that email used as amelia customer. So changing the role in the wp admin panel to a user seems not changing its position in the Amelia database. Is it correct?
thanks for replying. So basically what I found is that I had an Amelia Customer and in my implementation I need the customer to be also a wp user as I have to handle payments with woocommerce. So I had this customer both in wp and in Amelia. Then I wanted to have this customer as employee. So I changed his role in wp from amelia customer to amelia employee. But when I was trying to register him as employee I could not complete the procedure as I was receiving a message that the email was already in use. So I decided to delete the user and started the procedure again creating the user from wp backend and assigning directly the amelia employee role. But I received the same message "email already in use". So I went to check in the customer list from amelia backend and I found still that user registered as customer. So I had to delete it and the problem was solved.
Now I was trying to replicate this issue and I receive the same message that the email is in use but I cannot see the user in customer list in amelia. Moreover, during the employee registration procedure in Amelia, I cannot see that user in the drop down of the wp users that have the employee role. For this reason I was commenting that once a user is registered as customer and then you change his role to employee from wp backend Amelia does not change his role from customer to employee.
Anyway right now I cannot see that customer in the amelia customer list once I set his role to amelia employee. If I set again to amelia customer I can see in amelia customer list.
Hope you can give me some hint on how handle users between WP and Amelia.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.
When there is a wp user with the "Amelia employee" role for example and the customer in Amelia with the same email, this will cause a conflict between roles and could cause a permission issue. Depending on which was created first, it will be saved in the wp_amelia_users table in the database with a certain role. If you wish to create an employee in Amelia with the same email, it will not let you and you will get an "email already in use" error message.
Now, when you delete the customer for example, the entry in the table in the database could still be saved with the "provider (employee)" role, and thus it would require a change in the database for that wp user to be connected to the newly-created employee in Amelia.
Hope this helps you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
